| Sending prayers your way. I think parvo stays in the ground for a certain amount of time. I'd check with your vet on how to clean the house, and how long it takes to get out of the ground. You might want to keep your babies away.

| They have my prayers. Parvo will stay in the ground for something like 2 years. He shouldn't have any trouble with getting it again though when he gets home as he should be immune since he just had it. Sounds like it was caught very early on and he isn't a baby so he will probably do well.

| Olivia, My prayers for the babies. Here's a link that tells how to clean the house and yard. It is so very contagious so make sure that everything that you take back home with you has been disenfected also, if you can. If my vet has a parvo case come in the tech and vets that treat the dog cannot go near another animal until they've showered and changed clothes and the areas where the infected pet has been is disenfected with bleach solution. http://www.workingdogs.com/parvofaq.htm

| glad the pup is doing somewhat better. My pittie girl got Parvo when she was 4 mnths old and I almost lost her. Thankfully she pulled through cause she is my complete heart! From what I've seen older dogs seem to have a better success rate than puppies. before I brought lulu back home I was advised to bleach all my bedding (where she slept), clean the carpet, and bleach the yard. I couldn't bleach the yard since I lived in an apt complex. but i soaked the apt in bleach. the main thing was NOT bringing in another dog, esp a puppy in 6 months.
