| It happened to me once, and I keep a clean house. I had to wash all my bedding with bleach and hot water, and get a special lotion to put all over my family and myself. It was disgusting.

| Traveling and staying in motels is the major cause of having bed-bugs in the home! Here are some ways to help get rid of them and keep them away. http://www.deadbedbugs.com/?gclid=CK...FQibggodTFfl2Q http://www.thwartbedbugrepellent.com...FQacggodk0p64w |

| Ahhhhh! I would freak out and burn my mattress! Don't be embarrassed though...that can happen to anyone, anywhere. I remember that someone was going to show me how to check my bed for dust mites and I told them I was happier not knowing. I am curious to know how you get rid of them permanently though. |

| There is a huge bed bug prob in NYC the last couple years. Boston as well. Fossil shell flour is a natural, organic and very safe way to get rid of them. If you have hardwood floors--they hide in the cracks during the day and come back out at night. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | OH, you poor thing! Don't be embarrassed bc they're pretty much an epidemic right now - in hotels like crazy!!! You can pick them up everywhere, and like you said, it has nothing to do w/ cleanliness!

| You poor girl! I haven't had any experience with them *knock on wood,* but I've heard how awful their bites can be. I hope the exterminator is able to rid your home of the nasty bedbugs! Makes a person not want to travel hearing these stories!

| I have never had them but my cousin has...it took like 4 months to get rid of them. she was getting bit and her son but her daughter wasnt. what she did to see if they were infact bedbugs was have her boyfriend by the mattress and she would turn off the light for a few minutes he would be looking at the mattress as soon as she flipped the light for the little bugs and sure enough she did. She is SUPER clean so please dont feel embarressed it can happen to anyone

| Oh my gosh, that's horrible, Marci. I hope the exterminator gets rid of them very quickly for you's. Maybe you should call the hotel you stayed at and let them know.

| Layla has some bites it breaks my heart.... she is going in her small crate tonight (the one i use in the car.... fits her ok.. but not NEARLY as spacious as her big one that is in my room) and wait to see what the bug guy says about her crate tomorrow.... and then treat her bedding as he suggests. I feel so bad for my girl... she JUST got over her allergies... good thing she got her heartguard today!!! |
