| Well my Hubby and I were dating 6 years and we had already gone and looked at rings and picked out the one I really wanted. The last weekend in November 2005, my Hubby decided he wanted to go pick out our very own first Christmas Tree. I was so not into it and being a complete frumpy pants, complaining the whole time, I also was not feeling well, and was being a big bitch to him....so after picking out the tree and ornamaments and getting home late...he was like okay now lets put it up! I was like you have got to be kidding me, cant this wait until tomorrow. He was like just one ornament. So because I wanted to get to laying on the couch and watch TV and relax..I got up on the stool and he started giving me ornaments to put up on the tree, 1 by 1 they were going up and I turned to get the next one and he had made an ornament by himself and attached my ring to it, the very exact one I wanted. I just starting balling...like a little girl! I was so ecstatic...then I was like oh babe, I am so sorry for being so mean to you tonight...I felt really bad for being such a pain in the butt! We laugh about the situation now.....we just got married this past May 2007 and are having the time of our lives!! Love all of your stories...very touching! |

| My hubby and I were working together (for about 3 years), always chatting and hanging out at work, but wouldn't date because of the co-worker thing and he was a manager. He left the company and called me saying, "We don't work together anymore, do you want to go to dinner?" So, after dating for about 8 months, he proposed, on his parents' 50th wedding anniversary, by saying, "I'll marry you, if you'll marry me!". October 21st will be our 12th. We had both been married before. I had been single for 17 years and him about 8 years. Last edited by Tiramisu; 10-09-2007 at 09:43 AM. |

| marriage I worked with my husband Bill's, sister. We worked near an Air Force base and used to get asked out two or three times a day...so Faye and I decided to buy "fake" engagement rings to wear when guys asked us out that we didn't want to date...but took them off if a cute guy came into the store.. I had only gone out with Bill for two weeks and one evening he came by work to see me as a surprise...I had my "fake diamond" ring on and he saw it...he asked if I would like a real diamond...December 4th it will be 43 yrs and several nice diamond rings later, he still makes my heart skip a beat... I always tease him by saying I thought he just wanted to buy me a diamond ring as a present..didn't know I was agreeing to marry him..LOL Last edited by YorkieRose; 10-09-2007 at 10:23 AM. |

| I had only been in California for about 6 months and me and some co-workers went to a bar after work. When he walked in I saw him and told my friends I am going to marry that man. we began dating. We were riding his Harley Sportster down the main street and came to a stop sign, he just looked over his shoulder at me and said "Hey you want to get married someday?" I said sure and that was 35 years ago September 15. We still have that Harley.

| This isn't MY story, but it's "Awww" worthy, and about my grandparents... They met in 1938, when my grandma was 9 and my grandpa was 11. For some reason, my grandpa & his twin brother had a locker right next to my grandma's in elementary school. The twins were good kids, but jokesters, always pulling pranks on other kids and teachers. My grandmother was a good girl, but some part of her took a fondness for the class clowns. One day, after the boys got caught in one of their shenanigans and were in trouble, my grandma whispered to her friend, "You see that boy, Earl? Someday I'm gonna marry him and whip him into shape!" They dated since then, and have been married 59 years this October!

| My husband proposed to me when I was in the hospital. We had been together for about a year, and I had been really healthy during that time (I have Crohn's Disease). I got really sick, and I told him that since I didn't know what my future would bring, I would understand if he wanted to walk away. He told me not to be silly, and the next evening he came to the hospital to visit me and proposed. Twenty years (and 4 surgeries) later, we're still happily married!

Lol, that sounds like something I would do! I'm always bugging Kevin about when he will get the nerve to ask...my friend has a similar story to yours; she was complaining about why he couldn't spend any money on her (she had asked for him to buy her something) and he pulled out the ring and was like this is why! Lol we are so impatient sometimes. | |
