You should be me, when I've come out of the ring and my mentor is yelling at me at how the stupid mistakes I made....Well, not yelling, but harshly telling me. Now talk about feeling like an idiot and I didn't even ask a question. |

That's what I'm trying to say. We all have to learn to keep it nice, but we also have to be honest. I also think breeding is a particularly touchy, but very important part of YT. A lot of people aren't going to hear what they want to hear there. I do think breeders need to be told not to breed 2 pound females, etc. I think they need to be told in a way that they'll listen to it, and not just get angry because they're being attacked. For example, I bought Max from a pet store that deals with puppy mills. I don't think I was ever attacked since I've come onto YT because I went the puppy mill way first. I learned the right way to approach buying a dog. I then began pming breeders, posting threads, reading the Breeding forums, and so on and got tremendous help and support in buying Gracie Leigh. I am so grateful for the help and support I got. If I had been attacked, I don't know if I would have stayed on YT and learned all that I did. |
most times when someone uses a '!' it's good but when they say something rude and add it at the end it makes it more 'dramatic' and makes it seem like they would be yelling if face to face to you.... But I use them in almost ALL of my post.. |

This is so true! If some of these things were going on right in front of me in person, I would either not be able to think of something to say or I would be really rude... Typing it out online give you time to think through what you are writing...it's nice |
I just want to add .... Thank you all for being so calm in your responce to this thread again this proves that we can say our opinion without being crude or rude! See i knew we could do it!! |

I didn't make some of the best choices early on with Gizmo, and I only felt attacked once (very early on). Most of the users on this site were helpful and understanding. I try to be the same way now. And YOU have always been one of the people I try to emulate in terms of how to word a response. You are very valuable to this site. :) |
!!!!! I don't know what you guys have against exclamation points!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?111?!?!?eleven!!!? just kidding of course haha. I think opinions are a wonderful thing, and we should all be able to share them. However, it IS possible to share your opinions without being rude or condecending (sp) about it. and I think that's what people here tend to forget sometimes. |

I LOVE YT!!!!!!!!! |

I love Yt too!! I can't even believe how much I've learned from being on this site. It's one of those things that you don't realize until you're giving someone instructions on what to do with their dog, or you're listing facts about dogs or whatever that you sit back and think "Wow. Look what I've learned!" |
BubblPopElectrc , I really love your posts. You're very honest and to the point but never nasty. You seem to be so laid back that saying it like it is the only way you'll use your energy. !!! !!! !!!!! |
Lets all remeber what we learned in this thread tonight because we will be tested tonight for sure:( |

ive noticed some of this recently . when i first joined about two months ago, i saw none of this . what is happening ? im kind of scared to start some threads because of what others will say since i have so many questions (some might be a little odd because im only 13) . i've been ridiculed for asking some questions on here a few times . its been very hard to deal with . thinking they're so big and bad picking on people, especially a young girl . puhh-lease ! its nice to know that this is only SOME of the people here on YT . its the many nice and caring people on here that keep me posting at all ;) thanx to those of you with the descency to not judge on YT :D |

Great post!! Tact is always the best way to handle any situation in my opinion. I do realize its a public forum and some times things can get out of hand, but I agree we should keep this place for learning not getting jumped on for asking a question. |

I think sometimes people take bluntness for rudeness and it isn't that way.. most of the time anyway. :p |

Like if someone was breeding a huge dog to a little female then one person can simply say thats very dangerous and tell the person why. NOT OMG ARE YOU CRAZY YOU SHOULD BREED DOGS OR BETTER YET EVEN OWN THEM BLAH BLAH BLAH! That person apparently didnt know what they were doing breeding and if they did then we arent going to change their minds! Also not every single person has to go off and say the same thing! read other posts to the thread not just the first one! If you see someone has said this just type agreed and if you have personal experience let them know! Also i think a lot of other topics get out of hand and its really not right if they are accidents! Some people try to do harm to other people but there are sincere and honest people in this world who dont mean to do this and IF there is a personal fight going on I think it should be within a PM and not a thread! OR better said if you know its going to get heated take it to the PMs |

sorry for the double post my cousins computer went crazy! |
I would like to say that since I've been back to YT, the vast majority of members are tactful as well as uber-helpful. Although no one has been anything but those things to me, I have had to cringe a few times on behalf of some unsuspecting poster being ambushed with a sniper rifle filled with nasty-bullets. While there are occasionally times and places for heated emotion-filled "debates", I have always told my children growing up that, in most scenarios in which they would find themselves, if they want to be taken seriously, they must present their opinion with tact and grace. If they offend someone during their message, they will find that their equisite wise passionate message will fall on deaf (and hurt) ears. Can someone just post all the good points you have put together here into a sticky as required reading every few months?? :D And let me add a few exclamation points with an "I Love YT!!!!!" |
This is a good thread. I'll try to behave myself, and be polite. I still love Yorkies and YorkieTalk and most, if not all of the wonderful people associated with it. |
