| ?!? Just put this in another thread, but hopefully it will post here?!? Yesterday my husband and I took our daughter to ride her bike at the park. I first want to add that it is quite sad that we have to drive blocks away to a park, just so Meka is able to come with us. With so many dog theft stories, we cant even walk around our own neighborhood for fear someone will follow us home or something Anyhow, we were enjoying a lovely walk when we came across a couple fishing and they had a lil' chihauhau. The lady brought her dog near us and started to compliment on how cute Meka is... Then outta nowhere, she asks "SO, HOW MUCH DID YOU PAY FOR HER" !?! Then she says "WHAT, about $600, $700"!?! I brushed her off by saying she was a gift from my husband and changed the topic... But I've had it up to here with rude people and that question! I get all the time!!! It never fails!!! Is is just lack of manners or what... which has led to my question today "whats wrong with the world"?

| I get the same question and depending on the person I'll just say any amount between "free" and the price of a Lexus just to see their reaction. Nowhere is it written that you have to disclose your personal info to a stranger. You will probably not teach them manners, so just have fun with them. Remember one thing, you have a Yorkie and they don't. Sucks to be them!!!! or jut tell them that having your Yorkie is cheaper than a lifetime of "therapy"!

| There isn't a thing wrong with the world, it's the people who are in it! I've had that question put to me a few times as well, but I never tell them. I always tell them "probably not nearly enough" and drop it or walk off. |

| I just don't think that people even have a clue that it rude to ask how much you paid for your dog. I get it all the time, from men, woman, kids, etc.....everyone asks me. I really just think that people are clueless!!!

| Its not very polite to ask someone what they paid for what you would assume is a high $ item if you don't know them very well. The US is going down the toilet as far as etiquette and manners are concerned. |

| I haven't had total strangers ask me but family members have asked. I told my sister that she didn't really want to know. I told the kids that ask that it wasn't polite to ask people how much something costs. I have had to repeat that for each of my dogs... you think they'd get a hint. |

| I think that is rude to ask people what they paid for anything unless maybe they are your friend and you discuss those things. At least that is the way I was brought up. I think I would have something in mind to say like "enough" or "she was a gift" or maybe even "I'm sorry I don't feel comfortable discussing what I paid for her". I have started being a little more bold when dealing with rude people and if they are rude to me I don't really feel bad being rude back to them. No one asked me how much I paid for my dogs but once a guy offered to pay me any asking price that I wanted for Teddy Bear because his wife had just lost her beloved dog who looked just like Teddy Bear. I told him that he wasn't for sale. I was shocked that someone would walk up to me and offer to buy my baby right out of my arms! I would try not to be too upset about some things that people say. I don't think they even realize they are being rude. I once had a friend ask my cousins how much they paid for their boat that we were riding in at their invitation. I was sooooo embarassed. They told him but I don't think they appreciated the question. I didn't appreciate it either. Ok, so much for my life story. LOL

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I can't stand it when people just flat out say "how much did it cost?" Usually I just don't answer or whatever. But if someone is actually inquiring about the price of a yorkie, I'll usually say something like "Anywhere from a hundred bucks to a couple thousand."
