Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I live in NY and work for a partner in a large lawfirm. I do know that when a reference is called for they never give more than a yes or no if that person worked there, dates of employment. I don't think that they can give any further information due to litigation issues. I will ask my HR people tomorrow and see what they say and get back to you. I do see cause for litigation there because he is running around like the jackass he obviously is and boasting that he screwed you on that job reference. The only thing is that you would need people to testify to the fact and while they might be willing to tell you what was said they will most likely be hesitant to testify to that fact being as they still are employed by that firm and have to deal with the jackass. Sorry that is happening to you. It's disgusting that he is such a cruel and vindictive person to do such a thing...especially knowing why you left in the first place. Did you give ample notice when you had to leave? I am wondering if he thought that the story about you needing to leave was a lie and you were actually just looking for another job.

| He really is disgusting - and talking to other people today I found out that he has done this to other people in the past. In the company handbook it states that we do not have to give ANY amount of notice. But I did give them 1 week notice. |

| I have been trying to get in contact with the owner but she is not returning my calls! I am so frustrated and mad - it feels like no matter what good you do - bad is always around the corner. I feel like I NEED to do something - but I have no idea what... |
