have you thought about going on "vacation"? Leave your home for a few days and see how you feel? maybe that would help you determine if it is "the housee" or not.....

You can try increasing the SSRI dosage, but it will take anywhere from 2 - 8 weeks to take effect. In addition to the dosage increase, you may also want to try short term usage of a class of medication called benzodiazepines. This will help until the dosage change can kick in.

I just read your other post, and I have a suggestion. When something similar to this happened to me in my mom's house, she got holy water from the church and she put it in literally every corner in every room of the house. Oddly enough, it worked. My family on my mom's side has a history of people seeing "visions". Not like we sit around seeing ghosts, but we get feelings, vibes, and sometimes see flashes of light. Whenever I was in my moms house, I would always get the feeling that I wasn't alone, even when noone else was home. I also used to get negative vibes comming from my bathroom and it just sort of felt like someone was always there. Also, I saw the flashes that you spoke of. When I told my mom, she said that flashes of white are usually a good spirit, but that flashes of black were a bad spirit. The flash I saw was black and it went from my mom's room to mine. That's when she went to get the holy water, because it got to the point that I was starting to feel crazy and didn't even feel safe in my own house. I know it sounds nuts, but the holy water actually worked.

If every you're feeling nutty again, just PM me.... I have tons of stories about me, my family, and my friend's family that will make you feel like the most normal person in the world! lol

Okay....I just went back and read your entire other thread and I definitely DO NOT think you are crazy!!! But I do think you are stressed out beyond STRESSED.....who wouldn't be with all that is going on in your house? I think two things need to happen....not nessesarily in this order but I think you difinitely need to speak to your doctor about increasing your meds....10 mg is the lowest dosage that there is for Prozac. Increasing your meds would help with the stress. Most importantly, I feel that the power of prayer is amazing....all us here at YT need to be praying for you. You may feel that your house needs to be blessed which I agree. People have their homes prayed over/blessed everyday BUT they forget that they can do the same for THEMSELVES....have someone pray over you!!!! My church does this every Sunday. Most preachers do what they call an "alter call" but lots of preachers now call for all those that would like to be prayed over to come to the alter. Someone quitely kneels with you and they pray with you.....sometimes several people may gather around you praying. It is the most peaceful feeling to know that you have others physically touching your back, shoulder, head, etc....and praying over you.
I promise I am going to be praying for you everyday and I hope that other YTer's will do the same. PLEASE keep us posted!!!

My personal "philosophy" (if you could call it that) on psychiatrists it that if I can't fix my own problems, how can someone else? They should definitely not make you feel worse either - I wouldn't go back to that guy.

Anyway, we have the same situation in our 1873 home & just accept it. After some researching, DH found out that a little girl died of pneumonia in her bedroom (now the master bedroom).

Once I was cleaning and going in and out of the room. I was on my way back in when I found the door shut & locked (it can only lock from the inside) and DH was downstairs. I stood at the door and said "please let me in" - it unlocked and came open. I've never ran so fast down stairs in my life! I was pretty shaken up but decided it was none of my business is "something else" was here way before I was. We do cleanse the house by burning sage, and having cats clears out any negativity (we have 2). Other than that we live peacefully with whatever else might be here... no problems & no worries.

So... so what if your cabinets are open or your shoes move?

Maybe it's meant to make you smile and take life easy.

This kind of thing happens more often than you might think - so please don't chalk it up to "I'm just crazy". There are a lot of natural ways to reduce stress without meds like Prozac... just a thought.

Maybe Prozac is not the right med for you. There are a lot of others that your physician can prescribe so I would talk to him.

Also, I do not think you are crazy. Stress can make us think we are crazy.

Who cares what neighbors or others think. Do what you feel comfortable with - have your house blessed or anything else that you feel may make you feel better.

As to the psychiatrist making you feel worse - that was probably so you would keep going back. Again, I say do what makes you feel comfortable. See your physician first and then take it from there.

I agree....Prozac may not be the best med's for you. Or it could be but not the correct the mg's. Every person is different. Check with your doctor!!!

aww! I'm sorry the appointment didn't go as planned. I think getting the house Blessed is an excellent idea. and also, (now I'm gonna sound crazy) go to the areas of your house where the sound is the worst or where it feels the heaviest, and just talk to whatever might or might not be there. Just say something like "This is MY house now. You don't live here anymore. You need to leave." Good luck!

I agree maybe the Prozac isn't working right. Last spring I was put on Wellbutrin and it made me go crazy. I thought I was a monkey. Although it brought hubby free entertainment, it was sure freaky! LOL I dunno if my dosage was to high, my mom takes it and she thought it was a little much. I think you should talk to your family doctor.

I am on HRT (had a hysterectomy a little over a year ago) and was having some issues with my moods (could go from lauging to crying to madder than hell all in about 2 seconds). I talked to my dr and we started out on the lowest dose to see if it would help. It isn't.

Everyone tends to have opinions and jumps to conclusions and judges you for your misfortunes. Forget them. If your house needs blessed...BLESS IT, If you need pills, take em! If you want a cigarette SMOKE IT Whatever works for you. Walk around repeating in your head LIVE MY LIFE and when someone says anything negative to you, look at them and say LIVE YOUR LIFE. Helps me all the time. Plus they dont really have much of a come back to it....
