| ![]() Awww what a cutie! I still can't believe someone just dumped him out like they did. I'm glad he's getting treated for the mites and the infection. Maybe the vet will decide to keep him!

| ![]() Guinea pigs ALWAYS have mites, living on them in a dormant state....and then they become active (I guess you'd say?) esp. under stressful conditions. They are VERY itchy for the poor pigs, who will scratch until their hair is gone, and then keep scratching themselves into bloody shreds. I have seen some horrible horrible pictures. Can you imagine what would have happened to poor little Sam if you hadn't rescued him, and gotten the care he needed?! Death by a wild animal would have been preferrable. He's adorable, and I hope that he finds a loving home! PS...their little chirping sounds are my FAVORITE thing about them! ![]()

| ![]() Thank you all so much for all your help and support with little Sam! He will be staying with this vet for at least another month, until his skin clears up and then hopefully he'll find a great home with other guineas. I can tell hubby misses him, he is such a softie when it comes to animals. ![]() ![]() We were so lucky to find a local rescue for rodents. They have been extremely helpful.
