I'll admit that I watched the VMAs only because I wanted to see Britney's performance. And I was secretly hoping that she would screw it up because her recent behavior has really made me dislike her and I think that she has brought a lot of things on herself. However, watching her perform last night made me feel really sorry for her. I could list everything wrong about her performance but if you saw it, then you already know.

I can't help but wonder if someone pushed her into this because she did not look like she wanted to do it. Why didn't someone step up and just say that she wasn't ready to do this. At the very least, why didn't someone tell her that her outfit was a terrrible choice and that it wasn't the least bit flattering. MTV should have pulled the plug on the whole thing when they saw the rehearsal, instead they used her to pull in the curious viewers like a sideshow freak. And it certainly didn't help matters that they zoomed in on those horrible hair extensions and kept cutting to the expressions on the crowd who were laughing or just looked plain stunned.

The song was okay, but didn't really have much in the way of lyrics (it was mostly just one word repeated over and over). I think that this is the end of her career and I actually feel sorry for her that she didn't have anyone who cared enough about her to stop this disaster from happening.

I actually feel sorry too MTV was just trying to get many viewers and they did keep showing ppl's reactions that were either laughing or not amused

I did not care too much for Britney's performance BUT I LOVED the rest of the VMA's this year, could you imagine being in Vegas with all those celebrities and being at the Palms. Oh my GOSH!!! It looked so beautiful what a night that would of been..

Justin was suppose to have a concert in Sacramento, Ca tonight and he cancelled it. I wonder why , with all that partying last night how could he possible put on a show tonight, ..

Britney is a mess, a pure mess. She had everything and she's slowly thrown it all away. Her performance was awful, she couldn't even get her lip syncing right. Her hair looked trashy and it really was just a big joke.

The two things I thought were a raw deal for her. First the news people calling her fat, which is crap. So she's not super skinny anymore, she still looks good for having two kids. Should she have worn something different? Maybe but it still ain't right. Second, I didn't like the comments Sara Silverman made about her. There's enough rude people, like Kanye West (don't get me started on him), we don't need her too.

I liked the VMA's.. i thought the way they did it was cool and i liked the vibe of the show.. it went well with the location(vegas). justin, timbaland, and chris brown all did really well i thought. But Britney, come on chick!! i like her new song.. and even though she's crazy i still like her as a performer(but she didnt do too well for her "BIG comeback") i TOTALLY understand that if she is putting on a "show" she is gonna lipsynch(but at least put a little effort into pretending like you aren't haha. AND actually PUT ON a show!!-she seemed like she put NO EFFORT into it, and was probably drunk. haha. come on brit-what the heck!

Britts performance was all over the media the other day. It WAS terrible. It did show her partying from sun up to sun down for several days straight...and even the night/morning of the performance. I think it was TMZ that did coverage of the VMA's....it showed Kid knocking out Tommy....what was that all about?! (rolling eyes) I like Tommy Lee, but I didn't catch what started it.They did a segment on Britt about her dying career...the funeral music and all. The end was a RIP Britts career. It was crazy. I think she just needs help...seriously!

I don't know if I believe it, but there is a rumor that Britney heard Sara Silverman practising her jokes backstage and freaked out and refused to go onstage, but she was forced to go out and perform.
I was secretly really rooting for her. I wished she could have came back like before. I don't think this ended her career, I think Kevin ended her career. Look at how big Nelly Furtado has become in the past few years. She has a kid, but her personal life is personal. With Britney's relationship and motherhood, she really went all out to try to get media attention. It just didn't work for her. I think when she had it all, she wanted out of it. Now that she's out of it, she wants it back.

^ There also claiming that MTV changed her performance right before, she was supposed to do a magical act w/ Chris Angel, they didn't want her to do that because it was to complicated or something (I think that would've been awesome for opening), then she wanted to sing live, but MTV wouldn't let her, then she had an issue w/ her extensions right before she went on..so supposedly this all led up to her performance. I don't know. I hope Britney comes out and says what really happened. I got this info from Comcast's The Fan this morning.
