I'll admit that I watched the VMAs only because I wanted to see Britney's performance. And I was secretly hoping that she would screw it up because her recent behavior has really made me dislike her and I think that she has brought a lot of things on herself. However, watching her perform last night made me feel really sorry for her. I could list everything wrong about her performance but if you saw it, then you already know.
I can't help but wonder if someone pushed her into this because she did not look like she wanted to do it. Why didn't someone step up and just say that she wasn't ready to do this. At the very least, why didn't someone tell her that her outfit was a terrrible choice and that it wasn't the least bit flattering. MTV should have pulled the plug on the whole thing when they saw the rehearsal, instead they used her to pull in the curious viewers like a sideshow freak. And it certainly didn't help matters that they zoomed in on those horrible hair extensions and kept cutting to the expressions on the crowd who were laughing or just looked plain stunned.
The song was okay, but didn't really have much in the way of lyrics (it was mostly just one word repeated over and over). I think that this is the end of her career and I actually feel sorry for her that she didn't have anyone who cared enough about her to stop this disaster from happening. |
I actually feel sorry too

MTV was just trying to get many viewers and they did keep showing ppl's reactions that were either laughing or not amused
