| Anyone work at home? Does anyone have a ligitimate work at home job that they didn't have to pay to get? All my kids are in school this year, and I want to get a job, but I can't find one that I get during school hours, and I can't afford a babysitter. Anyone have any advice??

| I've been checking this thread for replies, and there finally was one, but it was just someone else that wanted to know too. Lol! I guess no one works from home?

| Since you hadn't gotten any responses, maybe you could do a search? I feel like I've seen this topic before so maybe you could get some help from them. I can never get the search option to work though. Hope it helps. |

| That's what I was thinking. I know I've seen a thread like this before, but I couldn't get anything to come up with the search.

| Have you considered a job AT your child's school? I know our district is always looking for teacher's aides, bus drivers, substitute teachers and other jobs. You would also have the same vacations as your children and be "in the know" about what your kids are up to. Good luck on the job search.

| I work at home. I am a teddy bear artist and design and make mohair bears. I sell them from my website, on ebay, and at shows. Not to say that being a teddy bear artist is for everyone, but if you have some kind of artistic abilities, or do crafts, it is something to look into. Google crafts, prim, teddy bear artists, or just about any kind of craft that you can think of and you will find tons of successful work at home crafters. Sonya

| I work at home as a health care consultant. What jobs have you held? Is there any way you could fabricate a business from those skills? For example, if you worked in retail sales, you could sell something from home via an EBAY store front. You might visit your local small business administration. Most have a team of volunteer senior citizens who help people start their own businesses.

| My husband works from home, but because his company decided to get rid of their office and everyone works from home. I think a lot of people have a regular office job but then telecommute. Otherwise, I generally know about people who are in business for themselves, Real Estate agents, graphic designers, etc. You need to figure out what you are good at. That's not to say you need to be a CPA and do accounting. We have a local company here that runs errands for the "professionals" that don't have time to pick up their dry cleaning, buy groceries, or wait at home for the dishwasher repair man. Think creatively. Maybe check out some of those parenting websites for some ideas. I think working at your kid's school is a great idea too!

| I think any work from home job will require money. I think most work from home businesses that people start on their own, they can tell you that at first, you really aren't making any money...because you are putting it all back into the business that you are starting, etc. There are several work from home jobs out there but most of them are selling things (which you have to have start up money for too). Medical Transcriptionists are in demand right now, but you have to take classes for those too. I think in my area, the classes were $2500 or something like that and you had to take classes at night at the local university. I have researched so many things.....and it is hard to come up with anything. Good luck! Oh, I know there were several threads about this awhile back....if you did a search here on YT, you might find something helpful from one of those past threads.

| I saw something on Good Morning America about working from home. They had companies that hire customer service reps (taking orders) working from the home. I'm sure that they have this on their website.

I meant those jobs where you have to give them 50 bucks to give you a list of companies who hire work from home people that don't really exist. Or the companies out there who you have to pay them to sell their products and you have to pay for advertising, but never really get a check. I didn't mean investment into my own company (which I have done. I co own an Adult Novelty Home Party company) but I don't work from home with that company. I just wanted something I can do while the kids are in school to make a few extra bucks. I also searched, but it won't work for me. I don't have any skills, or talents, so I can't make a craft and sell them on ebay or anything. I did meet this guy that runs an auction, and he told me he would pay me 20% of things I list and sell on ebay for him, so I am going to try that. Thank you all for all your help and suggestions, I hope everyone else ca find something great!!

A friend sells Premier Jewelry and does really well with it, but the start up was over $1000.....whew! Quote:
I use to sell a lot on eBay, but it seems that they raised all their fees and PayPal did too.....I think I just got tired of that. Oh, I know one lady that has yard sales for other people...she makes a profit off the money earned. I don't know how good that would do though....Yard sales are a chore (fun, but work). I hope you find something and when/if you do...please share with us all! **I know my husband would appreciate it**

| I work at home. I'm a consultant with BeautiControl. Basically, the company is founded by women, for women. We do at home spas. Instead of going to a salon or spa and spending loads of money, we bring the spas to their home. Or, you can invite people over to your own home and spa them there. I can do group spas or one on one spas. I absolutely love this company. Their skincare is amazing. This month, you can sign up as a consultant for $99. You get $540 worth of treatments for that! What I love about this company is that I really feel like I'm enriching other women's lives. There are so many women that rarely take time for themselves. This allows them to do just that. Plus, you can work this around your family's schedule. I have 5 children of my own, so I can tell you all about that! My website is http://www.beautipage.com/stephanielitherbury Also, another great site to check out is http://www.wahm.com Good luck and let me know if you need anything! Also, I edited to add that you only have to order $100 worth of treatments in a 4 month period to stay active. Your discount comes off of that. I make a 50% profit off everything I sell.
