| I also ditto the Wally Lamb books - both those mentioned are great. Here are a few that I found to be fabulous reads: Snow Flower and the Secret Fan - Lisa See The Kiterunner You're Not You - Wildgen Lost & Found - Parkhurst Water for Elephants - Gruen Leonardo's Swans - Essex and if you want something to REALLY get into: Outlander and the rest of the series by Gabaldon are truly terrific books to just "lose yourself" in.

| I second the Nora Roberts books and those she writes as J.D. Robb, plus I just LOVE Suzanne Brockmann. She writes down to earth very readable romances about navy SEALS, among other interesting characters. So romance, very up-to-date, funny references in REAL language, plus drama/suspense. She has a great backlist. You can find some of her books on amazon.com or half.com used and get several at one time. I just got her newest book in the mail today. She does a virtual signing every time her books come out. Suz is the bomb! Check out suzannebrockmann.com She fills up my keeper shelf along with NR. Heather |

| Anything by Anita Shreve who wrote "The Pilot's Wife". I also love Linda Howard for romantic suspense novels - her books NEVER disappoint!

Are you a christine feehan fan. I love the ghost walker series. Men with bulging muscles are a turn on, expecially when they're fighting for the heroine and their physique are more described. I love those books... | |

| I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but I just started Fool Me Once by Fern Michaels. I haven't posted in this thread until now because I really like to read historical romance, BUT this is a romantic suspense story and the main character has two Yorkies! There are even two Yorkies on the cover!!It's in paperback and you should be able to find it in half price bookstores now. Hope your surgery goes well. Hugs!
