| Tattoo placement! Where do you have tattoos, and why? I've had my second tattoo designed for awhile and I wanted to get it done this year. I just got a phone call from my brother who went earlier this year with his friend to an awesome tattoo artist, and he told me his friend has him booked for another day (Saturday) and has an opening if I want in. I'm so excited! I'm just having second thoughts about placement. The tattoo is sort of S-shaped... northern lights with stars. I was going to put it on my outer thigh just below my hip. Now I'm having second thoughts! If it's a skinnier tattoo I'm worried it will make my leg look larger. I want it to look very feminine, so maybe that's not a good spot. I have one on my lower back now, and I would like to keep them covered! So tell me where you have your tattoos! Give me ideas! Oh and let me know which places were more painful than others!

| I have a turtle on my right shoulder. (looooong explanation as to why a turtle lol). It wasn't painful at all. It is small and feminine, and easy to cover in situations I don't feel it would be appropriate to show.

| Aww I like turtles! The town I grew up in started with "Turtle" I ruled out shoulder tattoos after going to my friend's wedding and seeing hers with her dress (although hers isn't at all feminine and not well done at all). I also work in a professional field and in the summer I wear a lot of tank tops. It's not a problem at THIS office, but I never know when I'll change jobs.

| Mine's on my shoulder. This way if I want to show it off I can, and if I need to cover it up I can do that to.

| I got mine where you just mentioned, outer upper thigh right below my hip. I love that spot. except its always hidden! I might have to get one on the other side but lower! LOL sounds like maybe you could do yours down the center of your back. My friend just got a maple leaf on the center of her back (dead center from all 4 sides) and its a nice spot! Not too painful she said either!

| i think if your tattoo is curvy you should place it somewhere it compliments the way your body curves. i love the foot, my husband has one and i think it's super sexy. another cool place, depending on how big you want it, might be your ribcage, under your armpit /above the hip. could be painful... i'm thinking of one there. i have a neck, "trampstamp" area, and inner wrist. the neck was worst, but that's a sensitive spot for me. i'd love to see what you're planning!! |

| my ex had one on his ribcage, said it was really really painful! and I'm a wimp when it comes to pain so I'm thinking of somewhere less boney! Eventually I think I want one on my neck, and i've also thought about inner wrist.

| My Mermaid is on the left side of my chest below my collarbone. A tank top covers her & my bathing suit shows her off. Took alot of planning. I'm thinking of having her "re-done" to brighten her up.
