Donating YT 11K Club Member | Diet Soda I have tried Coca Cola Zero and Diet Pepsi MAX recently and actually like them. I know they're not too good for you but they taste good. What are your thoughts on them? Good, bad? Do you not gain weight on them?

| They are all gross IMO. I heard diet soft drinks are either equally bad or more worse than regular; I can't remember which. Last edited by BubblPopElectrc; 08-09-2007 at 11:07 PM. |

| I'm not really picky. I'll drink anything diet. I hate the taste of regular drinks.

| They're not good for you because of all the chemicals in them, but it kind of depends what perspective you're looking at it from. Its not healthy to consume all those chemicals, but its also not healthy to drink all that sugar in regular drinks.

| I drink Coke Zero and Cherry Coke Zero all the time! I figure if that does not kill me something else will! Im sooooo tired of worrying about what is good & bad and for what reason. My stance is, in moderation NOTHING is horrible for you. The key though is moderation!

| Most diet sodas contain an artificial sweetener called Aspartame, which the majority of experts conclude, is not good for you. So, the simple answer to whether or not diet soda is bad for you is in fact "yes", it is bad for you! However, it is good to keep in mind that just about anything is bad for you if it is consumed in excess quantities.

| i have not tried diet pepsi max but i'm a huge fan of diet coke. i actually like the taste of diet coke vs regular coke (which is too sweet for me). many members in my family are diabetics, so this is what we have on hand. diet pepsi max has ginseng and (they say) more caffeine, which makes me a little bit hesistant to try it. i'm not a big fan of energy drinks. is it kind of like red bull (energy wise)? or more like regular diet pepsi?

| the thing about diet sodas is the kind of sugar. i tried coke zero and thought it was pretty good. i was really surprised. i don't like diet coke, prefer diet pepsi. my sisters came to visit and we got some pepsi max. it's ok, but as far as being an energy drink, i don't really think it was. they also say if you are trying to be healthier that having a sweet soda (reg or diet) helps keep your body craving sweetness that can't be achieved in natural foods (fruits mostly). the acid can eat the enamel... i'm sure you've seen where you can pour it in your toilet or on your windshield to get rid of the "haze." i only drink 2 sodas a day, so i think i'll be fine |

| 2 sodas a day is A LOT! LOL there are 9 - 12 teaspoons of sugar in a 12 oz can of soda. here is a decent article. I drink soda (diet) only about 2x a week, 1 can. Some weeks none at all. http://www.ext.colostate.edu/pubs/CO.../cc010821.html

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Well - call me a diet soda addict - I cut way down but HAVE to have at least one a day - but normally it's 2 - and always after dinner. I've weaned myself off diet soda water and I'll say this - I don't FEEL any better that's for sure - I thought drinking lots of water was susposed to be good for you - |

v- i was a diet soda addict too (still kind of am). i would drink 2-3 12 oz cans a day and my excuse would be...i need the caffeine. however, i've recently been drinking a lot of smartwater (by glaceau) and it has electrolytes added in to help give you energy. i've been drinking it for about 2 weeks and i've got to say, i love it.

| We are diet soda junkies...me and my husband have been drinking Diet Pepsi now for about 24 years and every day we drink about a 12 pack, so I'll have at least 8, he'll have the rest...so that's about 3 cases a week... My son's addiction is diet Mountain Dew, his tally is....12-16 cans a day...so that's about 3-5 cases a week... It would be easier if we just hooked up an I.V.connected to a drum....

| If your trying to lose weight then don't drink diet sodas. Drink liptons green tea or put some fresh fruit and seltzer water in a blender for a yummy and refreshing drink. For those of you who enjoy an occassional beer, have you tried adding 7up to it? In Ireland it's called Shandi. I guess that's the spelling. |
