Donating YT 11K Club Member | ![]() hmm i don't really know. I pick a name by the way it sounds when I say it. I've liked boy names but then I would get tired of them after a while so I haven't had any that I like stick. I kinda like Jameson though but that prob. won't stick either. I'm better with girl names ![]()

| ![]() I like the name DeeDee DeeDee Alexandra Parker? Also, the previous post about children going to school one day is so true! I have a friend who works with the local BOE and several names came up during a meeting: Her favorite was s**thead - pronounced ShaTheed and Lemonjello - pronounced LeMONgelo

HOW RIGHT YOU ARE!!!!! My poor Kate deals with this EVERY DAY!!!! She has finally decided to go by KATE... she is a "Katelyn" Boy was I NOT thinking ahead when I named her!!! Not only did I curse her with a weird spelling, but I tried to please both grandmothers by meshing their names Carolyn and Karol to get Karolyn.... So she is Katelyn Karolyn... Heaven forbid she fall in love with a man who's last name starts with a "K"! Can you even... I don't want to think about it! And worse... Please teach your kids the correct way to pronounce their names!!! My first husband has a German sir name Schoen.... he says it "SHANE" And that is not how it is pronounced! My poor child is forever correcting people when they "butcher" her last name, and looking quite ignorant in the process I might add! So we finally have her pronouncing it the correct way with the German pronunciation, which sounds entirely different.. much to the dismay of her father. Thank you Wayne Newton for that one! And if cursing my daughter was not bad enough I named my son Garrett Alan... Giving him the initials that he will forever carry...... G.A.S. Which are actually quite fitting for my son, but still not deserved by any child, anywhere! I am truly sorry! I had no idea... I honestly was not even thinking! Obviously..... ![]()

| ![]() The spelling should at least be somewhat similar to the pronunciation. I had a patient whose name was Danhl ... now what do you suppose that was??? She said her name was pronounced "Danielle"... sooooooooo, why not spell it that way? Some parents go out of their way to confuse people. Just my 2¢ ....

| ![]() Try to remember that one day your daughters are going to get married so their last name may change ... can you imagine someone named Bob Turner marrying Paige? ![]() I have a friend Pam who married Louie Burger ... she became Pam Burger .... They did get divorced I heard ... bet she went back to her maiden name ...

Yorkie Yakker | ![]() when I was pg with my first daughter, my mom helped me with her name. After coming up with many names I still could not commit to one. So my GM called one day to tell me how I was to decide on it. She said go to the back door, call out the name (both first and middle, and sometimes use all three) for ten min. And after that, if you still like the name, that's the one for your child! Now that I have three kids I get the point, I say their names at least 100 times a day and that's on a good day! HAHA!!!!! ![]() Amy

My husband and I picked names out before we were married. For a boy Bastian Blaze and a girl Summer Rose We like other names for boys such as Oliver, Sawyer, and I absolutely love the name River for a girl (but last name is an R). We decided against direct naming for relatives, but decided all the girls with have flower middle names and the boys will have hubby's educational influences middle names. And whomever mentioned Azalia. I am in love with this!
