I always laugh when people go off on these long diatribes debating one side or the other on these two topics.

And I think of a Clint Eastwood line from one of the "Dirty Harry" movies that pretty well sums it up: "Opinions are like a**holes. Everybody's got one."

Agreeing to disagree is the key. They just get so passionate about it that it starts arguments. I personally do not choose to listen to them, but I have in the past. I think they both try to state their opinion as fact and do not want to hear what anyone else has to say, no matter what. Even if I don't agree with someone I try to respect their opinion as just that - their OPINION.

Yes---I have had many an interesting long discussion with people who can talk about their beliefs and opinions without getting defensive and declaring another persons thoughts and opinions as wrong.

We can learn so much from people who are diff from us--- what on earth can we learn from people who think and believe everything we do?

Understanding and compassion for humanity needs a place kept in this world.

At the end of the day------ we all want the same basic things-- for our loved ones to be safe, healthy and happy. On that base level we have something in common with every other person on the planet.

The only reason I dont like Rosie is because shes so loud. I dont agree with her opinions but I like to hear oposing opinions. I used to enjoy watching her on tv but now she seems over the top

The media is SO liberal. I respect Elisabeth for standing up for herself and for our President and our troops. No one else is doing it..........

I'm far from a mean hearted person and saying that because someone calls someone crude is just plain silly.
It is my Opinion that Rosie is a very mean hearted person!

Not that it matters, but I agree more w/ Rosie than Elizabeth, BUT, I respect them both for being willing to put themselves out there for discussion and, clearly, harsh judgement.

But, to call Rosie crude (and worse) and Elizabeth ignorant or stupid - well - I'm actually at a loss for words about how mean hearted that seems to me.
