I'm glad they're getting tougher on celebs - they need to be held accountable for their actions - but jail time is pretty stiff for just driving without a license...I think they are making an example of her - that or she ticked off the judge when she was late for court

I also read somewhere that she was supposed to enroll in some kind of program because of the DUI but she never did. Someone wrote that she has shown complete disregard for the law because of her actions, and that is why the prosecutor was pushing for jail time. I personally think that celebrities get off too easy. It seems as if most of them are above the law and are never punished for anything they do. In her case they might be setting the example but IMO it's about time something changes so these celebrities are held accountable like everyone else

I think they should make an example of her being rich. famous and spoiled is no excuse for not keeping up with your personal responsibilities like your drivers license or your mail. that is no ones fault but her own that she cant even go threw her own mail and read what she is signing you would think with as many contracts and papers as she proly has to sign she would pay more attention to what she was infact signing. and im very against drinking and driving as well. she didnt kill someone but she could have. and that doesnt sit well with me.

and just to add if she isnt smart enough to keep up with her drivers license and mail maybe she shouldnt be driving. if shes has to pay people to do simple things like her mail for her then maybe she should hire a limo driver or something.

Wake up Paris!!! This is a real world, with real laws. DUI's are nothing to slap a wrist and let it slide. What if she did hit someone, would we just say it's Ok, it's Paris, she can do anything? I think not. She's an adult, with a brain the size of a pea.

While I don't think it's right what she has done, I don't think her treatment is fair. Plenty of other celebs have gotten DUIs with little to no punishment.. just the other night Ty Pennington was arrested with a DUI and nothing happened to him... and he has a FAMILY show for gods sakes.

With that being said, I think she'll be in and out in a day.

Have you seen her on the "SIMPLE LIFE", all the stuff they do and get away with , an average person could never do what they do on that show. I guess someone (the judge) is finally treating her like an average person

I think her sentence is fair. Why should she get away with doing what she did when the average person wouldn't. I don't feel sorry for her in the least. Someone mentioned that "Simple Life " show that her and Nicole Ritchie were on. Paris did not have a clue what the real world is like and she didn't have many manners that I could see.

I think it'll be good for her. Sometimes I think celebs think money can buy them (out of) anything. It gets old. If it would have been a regular person, they would have gotten worse. I love her, "I don't even read my own mail, someone does it for me" excuse. Made me chuckle...
