Free Paris???!!! What??!! I just heard that there is a site where Paris Hilton fans are trying to get a petition going to have her freed of all charges....she is facing 45 days in jail for driving on a suspended liscense. What do you all think of that?! Is that crazy or what???!! |
My Husband thinks she was wronged and they are trying to make an example of her. He said it wouldnt happen to an average person |
So, much like what many people thought of Martha Stewart? I heard a lot of people thought that she was made an example of. I don't know??!! |
I agree that they're trying to make an example of her. They ought to punish her some way but tossing her in jail isn't the right way. Make her do some community service or announcements or something. Or take away her right to shop  |
I do believe this was her second DUI.....45 days in jail seems like a fitting punishment for that. I have no tolerance for drunk drivers..... |
I just heard this on a news program (like ET or something) and they said that she wasn't even given the choice of comm. service or anything...that it was just a straight...go to jail! Did she cause a wreck or something? Something that might have made the judge feel so strongly about sending her to jail? |

I didn't know it was for a DUI!! Then, I think it is pretty reasonable then! I know each state has a different punishment for DUI's........hmmmm.... |
I look forward to her going to jail, I think it will do the princess some good :) |
No she has 1 DUI. She got caught driving with a suspended license twice |
Oh I dunno. She was convicted of a DUI and they suspended her license. She was pulled over not once but twice driving with a suspended license. She told the judge she didn't realise her license was suspended. Okay that works for the first time--short term memory loss for the second? They have the paperwork she signed for the license suspension. Her answer: She gets lots of things put in front of her and she just signs them. She also told the judge--she's not responsible for knowing what comes in her mail, she has people that open her mail. Yeah--just like the average person.:thumbdown I don't feel sorry for her at all and she should just suck it up and do the time. What is diff for sure than the avg person-- you and I would not spend our sentence in the kind of protected place she will be. Her crys of--"Not fair"--- please maybe it's not fair in ParisLand, but guess what---she lives in the same world as the rest of us little people. |

I'm glad they're getting tougher on celebs - they need to be held accountable for their actions - but jail time is pretty stiff for just driving without a license...I think they are making an example of her - that or she ticked off the judge when she was late for court |
if you've ever had a family member killed by a drunken driver, 45 days is not enough. She needs to learn that money doen't buy everything. i would have suspended her driving permanently before she kills someone. |

were she will be doing her time (if any is serv.)...I've never been there my self other then to visit a friend, but i've heard very bad storys about County Jail in L.A...i would hate to be here...Im sure that they would have her away from everyone else though because for sure she will be someone's girl that same day... |

She committed 3 crimes - the DUII and both driving while suspended charges. She was late for court and has pretty much thumbed her nose at the justice system. If she is stupid enough to sign court documents without reading them then she certainly isn't smart enough or responsible enough to drive. Sorry, now that I've stubbed my toe on my soap box :p can you tell I'm passionate about drunk drivers? I've had to deal with them too often, both personally and professionally. A lot of them drive suspended and claim to be the victim  Okay, I'll go pet my dogs and calm down now :D |
