I do not think he could be all Westie --Westies have a short full face, rounded not long and pointy like this little one. I think someone else got into the woodpile with a westie to make that baby. Who knows -- could have been something like a rat terrier, even a Jack Russell. The wiry hair thing makes me think Schnauzer or Fox Terrier but their faces are more square-ish -- not long and pointy. Those are some big ol' ears! LOL -- he may grow into them though. I think he's a cutie no matter what his particular mixture.

I have looked through a gazillion pictures of Westies and actually they do have the wirey hair. I have found tons of pics of 4 month old westies and they do look EXACTLY like him. Like someone said before, they go through an awkward stage at this age and when their coats grow in they look much different. Its funny to take a look around at different breeders website and check out their four month old pups pictures...you wont believe how they look at this age...totally the same!! I hope we can keep him and watch him mature and see what he looks like when his coat comes in...

DOn't worry--he's all Westie. His hair just hasn't filled in yet. They all have a longish face underneath all the fur.

Looks like a Westie to me, had a friend that had one for many years, I think he was one of the best dogs I've ever met, a real great little companion. Hope you are able to keep him, but if not, he'll be a wonderful addition to any family.

Well....we named him hehe...hubby is getting really attached but Im not saying a word...we will just let his heart grow around this little man until he cant part with him...oh by the way we named him Tucker!!

How long does it take for their coats to grow in all the way??

Funny you say that...yesterday as I was heading to the dog park..I had my hands full of camera, pop, keys, water bottle, dog food, Reece and Tuckers leash with him at the end...well dont you know he slipped his head off the collar and started to run away!! I threw everything in the van (yes even Reece lol) and fell to my knees doing baby talk...that didnt work like it would with Reece. Then I started to chase him...big mistake!! I live on a very busy road and he decided to try and chase the oncoming traffic...luckily at that moment my Sadie started barking from in the house...Tucker HAD to run up the front porch to investigate and I trapped him and tightened up his collar!! I know..long story but boy if he could he would be GONE lol!!

That's exactly what Jackson did!! He had just had a bath and Amanda hadn't put his tags, etc. back on him. He slipped his head out of the collar and ran .... she chased him and couldn't get him to stop. He was missing for a week! She finally found him through tons of flyers, calling vets, etc. A lady stopped in six lanes of traffic and opened her door and asked Jackson if he was lost ... he jumped square in her lap!!

About a week later Amanda was contacted and she got the little stinker back!! He's just a little wild man!!
