Go see your eye doctor. That cobblestone appearance is a sign of allergic conjunctivitis. You could try some Benadryl and see if that helps. Don't waste time with your GP, see your eye doctor ASAP.

what can cause it do you know? he did say something about conjunctivitis? but he kept saying he wasn't sure? just a regular eye doctor?

Ouch! I am SO sorry. I've had that before and my eyelashes fell in the bump area......the pain is awful. I had a stye. but have also had conjuctivitis and it presents under the lower eyelid......

You could have vernal keratoconjunctivitis. Here is a link that might be helpful. A plain old optometrist should be sufficient. If not, he/she can refer you on to an ophthalmologist. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

That looks really painful Amber!! I've had conjunctivitis before and it hurts!! One of those old remedies is to wet a plain tea bag with boiling water - then cool it down and put it on the eyelid. Not sure why it helps, but it does.... Hope you're better really soon!!

My doctor told me mine wasent a sty either because there was no bump, he also gave me drops and by the next day it had went down into the lower part of my eye and even my face was swollen, two days later I got a big bump under my top eye lid, I went back to the dr and he said wow that was a sty. and put me on meds for the infection.
My whole face hurt and I also had a bad headache. the pain was terrible and I sat with Ice bags on my face for three days.

You could be developing a sty under your eyelid. I have seen those before. Does your eye itch? Usually allergy related eye problems itch. Are you using antibiotic drops/ointment in your eye? Try not to touch your eye much. I think you need to go an eye doctor tomorrow. Also my eye swelled up like that and hurt and one of the docs I worked with in the ER told me to wash my eye lid where my eyelashes are with baby shampoo 2-3 times a day because one of the ducts was blocked with cheesy stuff. It worked too. So you might try that.
