Curling Iron

Can anyone recommend a good curling iron? I have the T3 Tourmaline one and it does not do the trick. I paid $165 for it and for nothing because the curls don't stay in. My hair is thick and wavy. Thanks so much!

Personally I like Gold n Hot. I still have the same electric curling iron that I used when I was hairdresser from them (and I used it a lot as a hairdresser). I have a professional stove (long story) but I love the ceramic curling irons with the adjustable temperature that they have. Not to mention how inexpensive they are for the quality. You may also want to try a good soft holding spray (with no alcohol whatsoever in it). No matter how hot the iron is the curl won't stay without the right product to hold the curl.

the 1" or 1 1/2" ceramic barrel will be best for body waves.

You might want to try velcro rollers. I think I have a revlon 1". I love it, but my hair is really easy to curl.

The one that you have is verry good quality, and it has nothing to do with your curls staying or not.
Do not got cheap quality curling iron, BC you will burn your hair and you'll regret it!!!
Fallow this instructions:
wash your hair as normal, than blowdry your hair 100% dry with round brush.Make sure that you don't get your hair too straight.
than starting at the nape, start curling about 1"-2" pieces of hair, making sure that you spray each strand with Termal protection product.
roll your hair on to curling iron, and hold it untill the heat on the hair gets hot to the point that your finger wont be able to touch it ( that hair on the curling iron). Than relese tha hair from tha curling iron, take a bobbi pin, and pin this strand of hair in small roll. Repeat thru the whole head and let it cool for about 15 min before you remove bobbi pins.
Voila !!!

hmm.....well no matter what curling iron you use if it is not used properly it will burn your hair. I've used them all and never burned anyone's hair. Concentrating heat on the strand using that technique causes a lot of damage to the hair if you plan to later curl it with a curling iron. I would not suggest using the round brush that way unless you are straightening your hair...and leaving it straight. A vent brush would be better for drying in preparation for the curls. Using a good soft holding spray and a large barrel curling iron is the quicker and easier way to get body waves.

I mean to wrap strand of hair on to curling iron and hold it till the hair gets hot. And if she has a lot of hair that is wavy or curly, than vent brush will just make it frizzy!!

Ok so what is a good brand for a curling iron? Right now I have a few Vidal Sassoon curling irons and they work pretty good -- I've had no problems so far. But I'm in the maket for a few new ones in different barrel sizes.

I've worked with very fine to very coarse curly hair and the vent brush never made it frizzy. It's all about product.

MY friend has super curly hair. When she wants me to curl her hair with a curling iron, I first use a round brush to straighten her hair, then the curling iron. I always find that a vent brush makes her hair POOFY and frizzy but I guess it depends on each individual.

ooo is it one of those round brushes that you use to blow dry the hair straight? When I went to the salon they used this first to blow dry my hair cause it was wet from washing. They blow dried the front, bangs and just drided the back. Then they used the curling iron. I really need to know how to use a curling iron right.

No. Vent brush is not round. It's just flat brush with wholes thru out, so the air can blow thru it which allows you to get your hair dry faster. But if you have curly hair, it will make them frizzy.
