My grandma passed away

im so sorry ... i know how you feel... it is so hard to see someone you love in pain and not be able to do anything to change it! My grandmother had a stroke about a year and half ago and is bed ridden and is almost constantly in pain it is so hard to see her like this now she is my only grandmother left and all i want is her to be back like her oldself! Just be thankful for the times you had with her and remember the good times! and be glad you got to see her in her final moments! your in my prayers!

thank you everyone. i went with my mom today to take care of the funeral and flowers. i made the flower choice for the grandchildren because i was the only one who was there day and night with her. my mom also let me pick the prayer card. she was one of my best friends i will miss her dearly. I've attached a not so good picture of me with my grandma on her 79th birthday, she would've been 80 this year.

This is what I wanted on the back of the prayer card:

im so sorry for your loss, had a hard time reading this and then saw the
picture of your grandmother and just lost it... i lost my grandmother too and
it was the worst day of my life at that time.. she was my best friend in
the whole wide world... she used to talk about me and call me .
( my gina) i was her favorite out of 17 grandchildren... i still cry over it...
it was a big loss to me... you will have great memories now of her..she
was a beautiful woman and just know how much she loved you..... it will
get better i promise....

I'm so sorry for your loss. That was a really nice picture of you and your grandma. Hold on to all those memories that you and her shared. When my mom died, my two children were very close to her also and it was really hard for them for months. She died in January of 03 and in May of that year my daughter went to get her hair done for the prom and I went with her, anyway coming out of the hairdresser, my daughter started to cry and said she wished grandma could see how nice her hair looks. I told her I think she can.

my grandma lost her battle to cancer (http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...=pray+grandma) i'm devestated things were starting to look better but as they say its the calm before the storm. the cancer spread to her belly and she had her first treatment of chemo last week but it didnt help. i saw her twice a day when she was in the hospital and then when she went back to the nursing home is was there every night. i went to see her last night and she didnt look good at all, she was very bloated and in alot of pain. they gave her a morphine patch to help the pain in her belly. she told me last night she was dying and i said "no you're not, you're going to be ok" it was time for me to leave i kissed her and said i'll see you in the morning. i was there today at 8am when they opened and she was doing much better, she was sitting up, eating, looked happy. i kissed her bye and said i'll see you later. i got the call i didnt want not even two hours later i told my mom to tell her im on my way to wait for me, i got there and got to talk to her and she listened to me (she couldnt speak), i kissed her told her i loved her and i can deal with that because she's not in pain anymore.

i was SO close with my nanny and im going to miss her dearly. thank you ALL for letting me talk about this. i dont know what im going to do w/my time and w/out her.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I to was extremely close with my grandmother. She passed away from cancer on my birthday 6 years ago. I would call her sometime 2 or more times a day to check on her. Just a few days before she died I called and she was able to talk to me on the phone. She lived in VA. I had just spent a week with her before she passed away. Even though we were doing hospice at my grandparents home. I'm so glad that I was able to spend that week with her.

Hang in there. There are still times to this day when I see something on tv and I go to pick up the phone to give her a call. Just wait until you start having dreams about her if you haven't yet. I hate waking up when I'm dreaming about her.

Sorry so long. Again, just hang in there and remember the good times that you had with her.

tonight was a VERY hard night. normally me and my mom would go see her but tonight we couldnt it's really starting to hit me and i know it will get better.

im going to get a tattoo and this is the one im thinking of (instead of angel) it would say Nanny (thats what all the grand kids called her).
