| Has anyone tried this? I have a UTI haven't been to the dr yet haven't ran and I have been able to pee (sorry hopefully not offending anyone). I got cranberry just unswettened and started drinking it yesterday. Today I was talking to my sister-in-law who is a nurse at a nursing home and she told me that I should also get cranberry pills with vitamin C and Azo. These are suppose to help keep your urinary tract and bladder free from bacteria. I'm not going to go to the dr unless I just start feeling worse or running a ferver. I was just curious if anyone has tried this before.

| Yes, it will help - but you should still go to the doc as you can still have bacteria growth at a low level that will pop up again in a few days/weeks. Also, the infection can migrate to you kidneys, if you have a certain condition called reflux - so you really shouldn't take a chance and you should go to the doc....

| When I get an infection I just drink and drink and drink some more water...it is the BEST thing you can do....I never have to get antibiotics or anything. You will flush out the bacteria drinking tons of water. I know it can be painful to go to the bathroom but just keep drinking and you will feel sooooooooooooo much better!! Good luck!! Dawn |

| I used to get UTI's also when I first started working as an LVN because i'd hold it in for so long LOL.. but i never had to see a doctor for it. I would just buy over the counter medicines in the feminine isle and take it and things would be all gravy.. it'd make my urine orange, but it was medicated and the pain was gone and so was the UTI.. hope you feel better |

| The AZO is supposed to help numb or something so it doesn't hurt. I don't know the rest about treating it yourself. I did the cranberry juice and all that but it seemed to get worse. I usually try and hold off on going to the doc too because I don't have insurance but sometimes you just got to suck it up and go. I felt silly suffering for days with it trying to hold off going to the doc when after one day of the antibiotics I was feeling sooo much better.

| Can't you risk spreading the infection if you let an infection go too long without an antibiotic? I had a bladder inf. once that became a full blown UTI and was going into a kidney infection by the time I got to the Dr's. If it were me, I'd get antibiotics ASAP. I hate taking meds, that was why I put it off.
