| Anyone From Baton Rouge, LA??? We may be relocating! I've read that the crime rate is higher than national average, ranking second as a matter of fact. But, statistics do not always reflect daily life. Anyone living there, lived there in the past, been there on occasion? We are going to be visiting soon, any must-see places? I would appreciate any reviews Thanks!!!

| just saw this post.. I live right outside of Baton Rouge, in Denham Springs and have worked in Baton Rouge all my life... the crime rate is higher than in the past in Baton Rouge due to so much influx of Katrina "movers". The population in the city has just grown so mch, they are experiencing growing pains, not that the people are bad, its just an adjustment we are all dealing with... The schools are not good in the city. Are you moving here for work? If you are, you will Definitely want to look into the Denham Springs/Watson area for living.. we are just outside of Baton Rouge and it is a much smaller community. The school system here in Livingston Parish is much better than Baton Rouge, we rated in the top 4 in the state. feel free to PM or Email for any info... I would be happy to give you info.. I have lived here all of my life... and just like any other city, there are places you dont want to go to, but I have never been afraid in BR. good luck Donna

| I am 10 minutes out of Baton Rouge in Zachary. I have been here all of my life. Research Zachary. Our schools are # 1 in Louisiana. Baton Rouge is ok. I like going and coming home I wouldn't want to live there mainly b/c of traffic now. Denham / Watson area is nice too. My niece attends school there and it is a great school. Angie |

| Just watch where you move I live in Denham Springs which is right outside of Baton Rouge and I have never had a problem here or anywhere in Baton ROuge. Just talk to people and stay out of the places where people say you should. But its really not that bad of a place. |

| We lived in Baton Rouge when DH was at LSU....moved back "home" after graduation. Now live in a small town in west central LA, south of Shreveport. Baton Rouge was great then, but as another poster said, with the growth from Katrina, it has changed quite a lot. Good luck with your move. |
