Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Guess what came to live with me!!!! A POSSUM! Jinny has barked all night. I was ready to wring her neck. I thought maybe a big dog came through the yard. I went to take Kristen to school and there he was staring right at me with his little glowing eyes. I turned and ran back into the house. I was suppose to go to Walmart but not sure now. LOL

| Last week we found out that a possum had dug a tunnel under our garage and set up home there. Well my husband let the dags out and they always go back there to check on the possum except for this day. Gizmo decided to go inthe hole after the critter. My husband couldn't get her to come out so I went out there and kept hollering for her, We have no idea how far in she went but we could hear her voice echoing. We were beginning to get scared and my husband was getting ready to go get the shovels so that we could get her out but just as he went around the corner I seen her stubby little tail backing out of the hole. Thank goodness. She was a muddy mess. So I grabbed her and brought her in for a mid week bath. Which she badly needed now. and my husband found a scrap piece of metal and blocked the hole for now. Now we have a hole to fill in this summer. I was so glad that she backed out. The hole was only about 4 inches in diameter and there is no way she could have turned around in there. I guess she still has her primate hunting intincts. Has any one else had there yourkie go in a hole after a critter?

| We have a skunk and an Opossium that stays around. The skunk digs holes under the fence and I've even had a wild animal rescue guy come out with a trap it got so bad, but he could never trap it. The neighbors and I took turns with that trap for over a month and just finally gave up. The Opossium is brave and just walks along on top of the fence during the day. He's a really big fellow too. Digging varmits out of holes is what the terriers are bred for, so yes, it in them to dig. Mine so far haven't taken an interest in doing that. |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | The other night I opened the front door to let Rogan out and right there...2 feet from me was a opposom, right there on the steps !!!! He didn't even care that I was right there. Well I know they are evil little critters and wouldn't want him to get ahold of one of my babies so I hollored for my hubby, and he came and that thing didn't budge.....just stayed right there. I'm against killing but I didn't want that thing getting my babies!!!! So I let my hubby get his paint ball gun and give him a scare. He finally ran away and I haven't seen him sence. Yuck - they are nasty little buggers! |

| What funny possum stories. I have my own. A possum was sneaking into the feed room and snacking. 'Possum poop contamination is very dangerous to horses..... so.... the only practical thing to do was set up a live trap..... Of course hubby said that I'n NEVER catch a possum, but I just smiled and set the trap anyway. About two days later, I went down to feed and lo and behold what was in the trap but one really pissed off possum. I picked up the hissing trap and called hubby to come and look. Well the possum "died". Actually, I KNEW he was playing possum, but hubby got really mad at me for causing the death of the possum. He took the trap from me and took it out in the pasture to empty the trap so we could "dispose of the body". He opened the trap but the possum had "died" with his feet firmly closed around the wire on the bottom of the trap. So hubby did the only reasonable thing.... he turned the trap upside down and started shaking it. Boy was he surprised when the possum hit the ground and "came back to life" and chased him about 15 feet. He was ONE PISSED OFF POSSUM!. I still laugh about the back from the dead possum. |
