Funny. I was instantly popular. I think you all knew a hottie when you read one. ;) KIDDING! I was PARANOID for the first three or four months. I'd seen a couple people get slammed, and I was sure I was next. I didn't even understand how forums worked, and as one of about three men who were posting semi-regularly, I felt like even more of an outsider. But Villette, Bettyeanne, Sylvan, StewiesMom and a few others took pity on me and replied to a few of my posts. It's been good ever since. I can honestly say there is not a member here who I don't like. Well, I don't know everyone, but there's certainly not a member here who I dislike. I even like the brat MeganS, but don't tell her that. I'd rather be slammed. |

don't give up and I sent you a PM LOL - you are getting a NEW animated Avatar TODAY if you see my pm. Everyone needs one to show off their yorkies. and Mike. Ya.... you were an instant hit allright - posting that picture of yourself in your undies really helped........:D :D :D HA !!!!! KIDDING (mike really did NOT do that) he doesn't have to - we DO know a hottie when we see one. |
When I had my first conversation with V LOL that is when. And then I had a huge scare for about a minute and sooo many people pm'ed me wishing me the best and offering advice. That was when!!! OH most importantly, when I couldn't kill the thread killer thread!!! I knew then! I swear, I have posts here that no one ever replied to!! Or they died after I replied to someone else's posts LOLOL |
i still feel i dont belonged here maybe its because i dont post alot. i do found this board very helpful and enjoyable. |
I joined about a year ago and I didn't feel like I belonged but I'm typically not a "forward" person--I usually sit back and people watch--but I get really chatty after I get to know someone better. I started to feel like I was a part of the site when I opened Cafe Max and started selling treats here because I had the opportunity to speak with people more. Then daisy mae06 sent me a Christmas card, which was really sweet. There still are some days when I feel out of the loop but that's okay :) . |

To all those who feel left out sometimes, hang in there. Long after I'd established myself on YT as a "regular," I went to another dog forum and ran into the same thing. I was nobody and nobody replied to my posts. I disliked the forum for a long time for that reason, but you know what? They came around with time. I think it's just the nature of public forums. There are thousands of posts, and you can't reply to all of them. You pick and choose from those you connect with, and sometimes it takes a while for posters to be noticed as someone who's going to stick around and be part of the group. Hang in there! And post cute pictures of your dogs! |

I don't fit in 1 Attachment(s) Being new is part of it. The folks that have responded to my posts have been very nice for the most part. The part that makes me feel like I don't fit in are more along the lines of 1. I don't "spoil" my baby....at least that much. 2. I don't have her Yorkie coiffure done regularly. She does get brushed, tho. Heck, Can't afford my own hairdo! 3. I'm not on a first name basis with our Vet. I might need him once a year (thank goodness). 4. I don't feed my dog organic (or my kids for that matter) stuff, just what I can find at the grocery store and feel is decent. Please don't slam me about the corn content and all.... Sweety is healthy and eats plenty. There are a bunch of other stuff that I see from the posts that I don't do. Some, I have tried to change to benefit Sweety. Some are things that go on my priority list way down there below some of the stuff I need to do for my skin kids and husband. Then there is the one someone mentioned before about being slammed. Because I am different than alot of folks on here, I worry about being slammed. I'm not weird. I'm just suthern! We don't do organic in my neck of the woods. We do homegrown! :D We fry our taters and about anything else that will float in Wesson when it's done. :) Anyway.. just thought I'd jump in with two feet!:D |
What a cool thread! Well, silly me, I still feel a bit like an outsider looking in:eek: ...I mean I'm completely addicted and don't seem to have a shortage of posts, lol, but I still read plenty of threads and think "oh how sweet, look what great buddies those members are" or something of that ilk. I also hesitate to jump in with both feet (like previous poster) when I see something I completely disagree with. Anyway, I've met many wonderful folks on this site and have several who's posts I read faithfully, because they always make me laugh, or I love their pics, etc. |
LOL! Nobody hardly ever responds to my threads! So half the time I dont feel like I belong either! |
I don't, but then, I'm obnoxiously new. And I lurk a lot xD |

I've been here a while and I still don't really feel like I belong yet. There are alot of people that I know, but I don't think anyone knows me. I know that I should try and post more than I do, but sometimes I just feel like I don't have anything eloquent enough to contribute. I'm hoping to get to know more people though. I know then I'll feel like I belong. |

LOL I always stay away from them! They freak me out! Just Kidding... but kinda not! :D |
When Villette made my avatar for me and helped me with my pictures. I thank you so much Villette. I see you are always helping people and making them feel welcome. |
Though I've met a few friends for life on here, as far as the YT 'community' goes, I still feel like a new member even though I've been here almost a year. Not sure why I feel that way...I just do. |

:aimeeyork I have a hard time feeling as if I belong too. Not because anyone has been anything other than helpful though! I think I just don't feel knowledgable yet. I am learning very fasy though! A lot of times I don't stay with my thread because I am so very busy with housetraining my Uma, and of course JuJu HAS to do everything the new pup does, so she is getting a refresher too! Then there is the supervised play time, the leash training, the free time outside, chow time, and of course cuddle and groom time! I am just busy! Hopefully things will slow down as Uma matures, and I will be able to spend more free time of my own. I do love this site!:aimeeyork |
