| So true! I remember when I worked....trying to squeeze in all the errands I could on my lunch break...which was a pain because I would have to fit the lunch crowds and then fit for a parking spot at every stop I made...not to mention finding one at work. I love being up to go to "town" and get my errands done or go to the park during the middle of the week or Monday or something....there is never a crowd! I love that. I honestly think that my "saving grace" on staying home is that I have it in my head (though sometimes thick and stubborn) that I have to get up, get dressed and "ready" like I have things to do...even if it is just staying home. It really seems to help. We love 45 minutes from the nearest town, so we are pretty isolated and "lonely" sometimes.....when I have those days....that is when you will see me either online all day or working in the yard/garden, etc. I try to always find something to do. --even though sometimes, I may not do it, I always find something...no matter how big or small.

| Donating YT 30K Club Member | I worked full time for 34 years in the insurance business most recently as the Director of a customer service unit. I also babysat from age of 10 until I could get an office job. 2 years ago I was calld in and told my position had been eliminated after 33 years at the same company. I had to take an early retirement with a pension od 1/4 what I was making, But so far I have been able to stay home and love it. I also take car of my 87 year old parents daily which is great I can help them when they so need it but it gets a bit depressing. But I have been able to get Cali and Pixie and be home full time and that's great. I would find it hard to go back to full time work now but may need to go back part time to cover vet bills!!!lol Winter is definatley more isolating in the midwest but spring is coming and then I can garden and walk the dogs again.

| I have always been interested in an honest and legit (sp) work from home job. I have done tons of the selling stuff (doesn't work for me) and others, they want you to pay sooo much before you even get the info. I checked into our local college and their classes were over $2000 for a few months to become a medical transcriptionist.....again, you have to pay that money, take that time (I think they were night classes) and they give you a list of doctor offices to call to see if they need your services - what if they don't?

| I have been a stay at home mom ever since I had my first child 8 years ago, I have worked since then, doing full and part time jobs, but I didn't like that I was away from them so much, and since I got fixed when I had my son 4 years ago, I feel time is to short and they grow up to fast so i love to stay at home, and I know they like it to.

| I am a stay at home mom, and I thank hubby for asking me to stay home when we had our children. now i have problems with my back , so I couldnt go to work anyway, but I love being home. We have foster children so I guess you could say thats a job for me, it keeps me busy along with my skin and fur kids. I have plenty to do, I dont get bored lol Most days I wish there were more hours in it to get more done. especially with packing to move. I do stay up late for some me alone quiet time.

I do medical transcription at home on my computer. Luckily, before I was married (many years ago) I had worked for a medical insurance company and had taken a medical terminology class. So when a friend needed someone to work for her transcription company part time she gave me on the job training, then after about a year she was offered a job she couldn't refuse and went to work as director of transcription for the clinic that she had accounts with. Soooo...I was given those accounts that I wanted and now have my own business as a contractor. It is interesting work, but after 7 years I am getting a little bored with it. (Maybe it would be a little more interesting if I worked for a psychiatrist or something LOL). I dread starting work every day. It is hard to get motivated and I end up spending too much time on YT and other stuff, then end up working late into the night and sometimes early morning. If we didn't need the extra money I would definitely quit. I miss having the time to keep up my house like I used to, reading, sewing, etc. It is nice to work at home, so I can go to my daughter's games, etc., but there are definitely lots of distractions. It is especially hard to work when the family is home. They are constantly wanting me for something. I rarely get a day off and am always trying to stay caught up from when I have to go somewhere and end up working Saturdays, too. But if I had to work and had the choice between at home or in an office or something I would still definitely choose working at home. The tax write offs are nice, too!

| Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I am a stay at home mom of 3 and I LOVE it!! I do the happy dance every morning when I get them on the bus. My husband works such weird hours it would be hard for me to work. I have no family close enough to watch them and I couldn't make enough to pay daycare.

| well at least I feel a little better. I always thought everybody on here had money coming out their ears or growing on the trees. And I felt like I was the only stay at home person on here. I am comfortable and usually have whatever I need and get most things I want. But I read all these post about people buying all these doggie clothes and some I see are really expensive to me for a dog and I use to think, dang everybody here dresses their dogs but me. I could buy clothes for mine but hubby thinks its dumb plus I never see anyone in our area with dogs in clothes. I do have 2 sweaters and a pair of pjs for maggie and now i broke down and bought her a car seat (which hubby will think is dumb) but I did that for maggies safety. She is small and always just lays in the seat because she is scared to try to stand up and look out the window plus she can barely see out when she does try when we're stopped. So I got her just a cheap seat, should be here today. But I at least feel better to know i'm not the only one that stays at home. I am a thread stopper also so if you post something you want stopped just give me a holler. I can post something to it and that thread wont last long. lol

| I am a stay at home Mom, have been for 14 years now. I gave up my banking career when I had my first son Dalton. There was no way I was going to leave him with a bunch of strangers and I had no family that was able to watch him. I tried going back to work after my second son McChesney was born, he was almost 2. I worked for 2 weeks, it was a nightmare. The sitter was horrible and all I could do was worry about my kids, so I quit. I am so thankful that I have been able to stay with my boys and be there for them when they get home from school. I do sometimes miss adult conversation, but I wouldn't change it for anything. I have my furbabies to keep me company and busy through the day too. When my boys get in college, I may go back to work, I have thought of opening a Dog Boutique, that is a dream of mine. For now my job is being Mommy.
