I'm with ya on the snow part! I am NOT a cold-weather person, I'll take 90 degree temps over freezing ones any day!!! I debated on whether to put Gage's fleece 4-legged outfit on him this morning before I left for work but hubby came home from fire dept before I left and said he'd put it on him around lunch time so he doesn't get too hot. Gage hates cold weather too and I can already picture it when I get home this evening - he'll want me to turn the heater on in the living room so he can lay in front of it and nap - he's a hoot with that heater and will bark at me til I turn it on for him...LOL!

We collect antique quilts and at the present time I have about 62 of them and probably another 20 crib and youth quilts. Good luck to you guys...so far all we've had is rain but nothing frozen like they predicted even though we have a chance for some ice tonight it's not supposed to be much this time.

I feel for ya! I went through the same thing 6 or 7 years ago in my hometown. Power went out on Christmas day. We were lucky...ours was only out 4 days. Some people were without for three weeks! It wasn't fun. We had on so many layers of clothes & all stayed in the living room with the fireplace & shut off the rest of the house. And it was a good thing we had bottled water because we had to conserve as much water too. It was really bad. After two days my dad drove to Shreveport, LA (normally a 1 1/2 hour drive...took him 3) to buy a generator at Home Depot. It took him all day to do it, but it was well worth it! At least we were warm! We didn't let it run all the time, but enough to warm ourselves up. He said that was never going to happen again...he'd be prepared!

I sure hope Shana and the girls are warm. I just saw that her heater is still not working. I bet Penny got to sleep in the bed last night.

LOL !! I Bet she did too....I hope they got it fixed - I had to turn the heat on today and can't imagine spending the day with none - especially NOW with this terrible weather everywhere....

Okay its a little warmer here, some of the ice has melted. And yes Im staying warm in one room at a time in my house becuase we have THREE of those ceramic heaters in here, lol. Now the only problem is if we start sewing with 2 sewign machines at the same time we throw the breakers Those heaters suck a lot of electricity.

Well, the cold has reached Matagorda County now! It is 30 degrees here and cold! Luckily my heater is not broken. I hope you get yours fixed soon, Shana! Stay warm!

I'm glad to hear that it is a little warmer today in DFW - here in Austin it is 28 and alternating between freezing rain and snow - and it's not going anywhere for awhile. BUT if it is warmer in DFW today, it will be warmer here tomorrow - yahoo!!!!!

We're not much into this freezing wet cold stuff here in central Texas! Can ya tell!

i don't know what i'd do if i had no heat in my house. i'm such a wuss in the cold. its probably 60 degrees in my room right now (and i live in the basement) and i have two blankets on while lying on the couch. its probably gonna get colder down here over night. its about 20 degrees outside. brrrr. i just had morgan outside and i've never seen her pee and poop so fast hahahaha

It's pretty bad but not as bad as northern texas is - man - people are sure wrecking alot though - we had a big pile up on the freeway just this morning....I hope everyone is staying warm and Shana - did you get heat yet ????

We got hit hard here too. Its really sad, people are literally freezing to death. We havent had any power since Friday. I luckily got mine back last night and my family stayed at our house. You could see your breath in our houses. Its really bad here. There are still 1,000's of people without power and they are saying it could take up to 2 weeks to get everyone back up and running.

It snowed here! Isnt that awesome?

No central heat (is that what its called?) but I got a total of 4 room heaters and they are working very well!

Anyone heard the weather forecast for here (Lubbock)? We had a few snow flakes this morning, BUT.... they're calling for a MAJOR snow storm coming in on Friday! More snow than we've seen in 8 years!! To those of you north, it's probably not that bigger deal, but around here 4 - 12 inches is a LOT of snow! Getting the grocery list together and getting ready so, we probably won't see a flake! If I didn't get things together tho, it would be a blizzard..
