So Cold!

37 here in Austin - heater cranked up - I've got on an undershirt, a sweatshirt, cordoury pants, socks, boots, and I am COLD!

Shana, I would be shaking uncontrollable if it were 42 in the house!!!

I know, they keep saying the ice is coming, but not yet!

I live in League city it has been upper 70's all day, I here it is coming.

If you live in the USA Everyone should have a furnace. I dont care if you live in california. JMO but take it..

Aahhh...sweet memories! We just went through the other big ice storm before the holidays...7 days without power is no fun believe me! I can relate to the temp in your house...the lowest it got in ours was 39 We were sitting there freezing and my husband asked me if we had anymore blankets, I said no and gave him mine...I had his big bathrobe on so I was o.k. Well, I sat there and started laughing...he asked what I was laughing at...I said, that 6 foot tall stack of quilts on that chair in the corner! We collect antique quilts and at the present time I have about 62 of them and probably another 20 crib and youth quilts. There we sat for, I don't know how long, freezing our froobies off and we had a house full of quilts! And I'm not even blonde.....

Good luck to you guys...so far all we've had is rain but nothing frozen like they predicted even though we have a chance for some ice tonight it's not supposed to be much this time.

No offense but If my family was truly freezing.
I would have burnt quilts and also provided them for warm.
But thats just me..... And say what people dont like to hear.

Gee Kelly...I think you missed the whole point of my story. Under 'normal' circumstances we don't use our antique quilts but we did that day.

Suggestion -- get NEKKED under 'dem covers. Body heat will keep you warmer --not only that it might be more fun

I was about to do my typical roll my eyes "how cold can it be in texas???" at your post being in frozen Canada but man that is cold in your house. Brrrrrrrrrr...... Snuggle with the boxer, they are warm.

I know what you mean, 30 here in Fort Hood. My husband has been off work (Army has a four day weekend )since friday and wont go back to work till tuesday, and we decided to just stay home this long weekend We are supposed to get freezing rain I think just to think friday was in the 70's. Sorry you are so cold, I hope you get your heater fixed soon.

Can't be colder than Korea though, and I didn't have a car there

hahaha it had been 70 ...I think I exagerrated lol - it was probably 50 when I posted but NOW it's like 35-40 and FREEZING....but poor Shana - with no heat ...I sure hope they get that fixed and fast. I'd be in a hotel

Morning V! Kept watching the weather all week-end and noticed the DROP in temps for your area....brrrr!!! Are they still calling for freezing rain/sleet in your area through tomorrow? My area broke the record high yesterday with a temp of 74 but this morning, temp dropped 4 degrees from the time I got up until I left for work an hour later Raining and nasty outside here and having to watch the weather close as there is a chance (albeit small) that we could get some freezing rain/sleet this evening into tomorrow morning!

It's freaking cold now that's for sure....it's got to be below 40 now & going to sleet tonight. I'm with Shana - a big weenie and can't stand cold weather - if it's going to get cold then I want SNOW lol
