| I need some Florida help please..... So...we're thinking of either moving back to Florida or at least finding a nice place to stay in the winter. We were in Ocala before but it still got cold there and my idea of Florida is to not have to use the heat! So, anyone have any suggestions for places we can check out? I'm not sure when we're going to do this but I want to do some online research before hand. Anyone? |

| Yah, I think home owners insurance in Florida is expensive in most places anymore. It was at least 3 times as high as our insurance in the Midwest and that was with a huge deductable! Our car insurance was about 3 times higher with a higher deductable too. But, the weather sure is nice! I'm going stir crazy here...I just hate the cold...I hate having to wear jeans and even a light jacket much less a winter coat. I want to be where I can get out and do something everyday at anytime and the sunshine gives me energy! I'll check out your area on realtor.com and see what I come up with...thank you Pat! |

| I live in Beverly Hills which isn't far from Ocala (about 40 minutes). We moved here from MD a couple years ago. My husband couldn't take the cold and possible snow anymore so I decided that he deserved the move to FL. It has been really nice here this winter so far. There have been a couple of cooler evenings but nothing that I can even complain about. I don't remember last winter being a problem either. The few colder nights and mornings are well worth it. Ocala is building up though. We shop there but not too often. Good luck with your search. I'm sure you'll get plenty of ideas here. |

MD is just too expensive I think besides other things. I'm from southern MD. I do like it here. It doesn't really "look" like FL to me. Parts of the area remind me of home. Come on down! There's plenty of room for more homes in our neighborhood!!! | |

| Sharong...we went through Beverly Hills many times on the way to the coast...it's a nice little town. If you come into Ocala on State Road 200 we were in the gated community of Oak Run right on the edge of town by the Wal-Mart and new Behl's (sp?) store. I really enjoyed it there and we still have several good friends there. daisy mae06...I'm familiar with Inverness too and it's a nice little town. I love the big deck and bridge they built out in the water at the park along the main road. We bought our new truck at the Ford dealer in Inverness before we left. I've been to the Wagon Wheel flea market too! Thank you Chrissy0277 that's a nice town home. I'm not sure when we'll be ready to buy there again...I think I want to travel around the state and look around some. Florida has so much to offer and I guess I'm one of the crazy ones...the heat and humidity doesn't bother me. We used to go to the concerts at Silver Springs on Saturday mornings. We would go real early to set up our chairs and then tail gate in the parking lot until concert time. Florida was a lot of fun...I didn't think I would miss it so much but I do and the boyz do to! |

| I grew up in fort lauderdale and pompano beach. its very very south, i dont know if that is good for you or not. i used to love fort lauderdale, now i cant stand it, but i think it is just bc i have been there for soooo long. if i did have to stay here i would probably consider looking in palm beach. it is beautiful up there, and i know it is expensive but there are some very good deals. my friend just rented a condo there and it is very reasonably priced. feel free to pm me if you need more info.

| Perfect Today is perfect...in the high 60's, low 70's..sunshine everywhere, sky is bright blue and a cool breeze blowing..I spent all morning outside cleaning the patio and then I have been out on the porch painting tables...the windows are open and the breeze is blowing...this why we moved here... Last winter we had the windows open for 3 months straight...but it has been a bit too hot for me without AC this winter..! |
