| ![]() Your one lucky girl to have seen that Emerald fall out of your ring! Emerald is my favorite stone as well as my birthstone. Lucky me! I never lost jewerly but my house was robbed and "ALL" my jewerly was stolen. About $15,000.00 worth encluding my wedding ring which I had turned into a cocktail ring after my husband passed away! All beautiful memories gone! I didn't even have a pair of earrings left. Stupid me had a ring drawer and another long drawer with chains, pendents etc all in a special sized box. Right where anyone can just help themselves. Who would have thought someone would break my bedroom window and help themselves! The police said that is where most women keep their jewerly and they hit paydirt when they opened up those drawers. Oh well, I still have my family and my health! Only my wedding ring(cocktail ring) was insured. That was 15yrs ago and the crook was never located nor was any of the jewerly! After the fact I had the house alarmed! So much for nice neighborhoods. |

| ![]() My husband gave me his grandmother's diamond ring for our engagement. When I was pregnant, I gained so much weight that it my wedding ring set didn't fit so I put it away. Someone told me to put it in foil in the freezer cause if you were robbed, they would never find it. (we didn't live in a good part of town then) Well, I THOUGHT I put it in there, but I have never seen it since. It still gives me a stomach ache to think of it. ![]() omega |

| ![]() Haven't lost anything YET but came close..... about 13 years ago the center piece of my wedding ring fell out (it's one larger stone with two smaller beside it - it's hard to describe but that's the center piece of it) and fell on the floor. Didn't see it happen but I heard it. Found it, took it to the jewelry store and got it fixed. Ever since then, I've had my ring checked once a year by the same guy for any loose stones. I've had to have the prongs on almost all of them built back up over the years. What I do is make a point to take my ring to that jeweler every year in the month of my birthday. Makes it easy to remember when I did it last. Of course, the month of your anniversary would work too! V.... you were meant to have that ring! So glad you caught that emerald! And it's a good omen, not a bad one, since Leonard is awake and responding. Be strong.... I know it's been a tough road.

| ![]() I have a similar story about loosing a stone. Last Christmas my boyfriend bought me a promise ring, just a simple channel set diamond ring in white gold. Valentines day that year, he was looking at my ring and commenting on how dirty it was, so I took it to the sink and started washing it with a soft children's tooth brush. A minute or so into it I felt what I thought was a clod of dirt (I waitressed at the time so it was always dirty), I almost washed it off my finger, but decided to look at it at the last minute. Good thing too, it wasn't dirt, but a tiny diamond off the side had fallen out and was stuck to my finger! So we had the Gordon's warranty on it and took it in to be re-set, a week or so later we went to pick it up from the jewelers. I had it on my finger for no more than an hour, I got home and noticed another stone had fallen out. Needless to say, I never found that stone. I was devastated, but in the end I ended up getting a much larger ring, because bigger stones stay in the setting better. ![]() |

| ![]() Oh, and who was that YT member a while back that put her rather large diamond earrings in a glass of cleaner and then they got thrown out?? I remember feeling so sick for her! I got some diamond stud earrings (.5 carat each) for Christmas last year which I wear pretty much every day and I am SO, SO careful with them after reading that!

| ![]() Vilette - you and the ring are meant to be~!! As for the wallet and diamonds, how lucky are you!!! I guess there are nice people down there in Texas!! I have never got my wallet back when lost. As for a losing jeweley story - My grandma was the one that rasied me. Not my mom or dad but my grandmother. When she died 4 years ago, Her jewelry were left for me. She had a beautiful diamind ring that I wore as a necklace around my neck to keep it close to heart. I LOST IT!! I was devestated that I lost my grandma's diamond ring. My regret was wearing it at all ![]()

| ![]() I guess I've lost things in the past but nothing of great value but my BF told me that last week a woman came to him at work and said she had lost an earring, a Christmas gift from her husband. She was very upset, well they found it, a diamond, he said it was huge. She said she didn't know how she'd have told her husband she'd lost it, it was valued at 25,000. I don't think I would be comfortable wearing earrings that were that expensive, a ring sure, you can see it and know it's there but not earrings.

Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | ![]() [QUOTE=red98vett] This is the last piece of expensive jewlery I have left ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() QUOTE] Oh Vi, I am soooooo happy that you didn't loose your emerald. Thankful to hear your hubby is awake and talking and we are praying for a good day for the two of you. Vi, Hope you and Leonard can feel warm hugs coming your way from us and many other YT'ers. I truely wish there was more help here in the United States for those in need of medical care and also to help pay for the meds that so many must take. It is horrible the cost of meds and also medical care. More needs to be done. I don't mean to sound cruel in what I am about to say, and what I am about to say isn't meant in a sarcastic manner nor intended to hurt anyone that has gotten help when needed. HOWEVER IMO, Our country has always been great about taking care of the, "I don't want to's" it is time for our country to start working towards helping more of those in need that have worked hard all their lives through sweat and tears to provide shelter, medical, etc for the, "I don't want to's." Thankfully we are still able to keep our medical that we have, but then, we don't know how long we are going to be able to do so. When others say to us that Jack and I are in our Golden years ![]() ((((((((((((((((((Vi and Leonard))))))))))))))))))) |

| ![]() In 1973 I was in High School and had my first real job. I saved and my dad took me to Montgomery Ward and I bought my mother a Mother's Ring with 6 stones. It cost $93.00. When I gave it to her on Mother's Day that year she looked at it, put it on and said "the stones on the ends will scratch my other fingers. You just gave this to me to hurt me." She took it off and put it in the box and walked away. My dad appologized, as always. I never saw that ring again. She passed away Nov 1, 05. This past june my sisters and I got together to go through her jewelry. There was that Mother's Ring. The band was worn thin, the prongs were worn almost completely off the end stones. I said "there's the ring I bought mom". My sister said: "Yeah, and we never heard the end of it either. She never took it off." I moved away and only saw her 5-6 times a year. I never saw that ring on her hand. She would take it off so I couldn't see that she really loved it. That's the only piece of jewelry that I have of my mother's. I had a new band and prongs put on it. It just feels good to have it. My sisters fought over the rest of the diamonds, rings and bracelets. I have what she loved but could never tell me. I can see that she loved it. That's all I need.
