A Test for my Husband

Ya know what???? I caved yesterday!!!!!!!! I took it down. He wasn't home, when I did it. I told him he just needed to pack it back in the box for me. Oh well, I guess I knew I'd be taking it down. the funny thing??? He didn't even know I was testing him! LOL! He never once questioned why the tree was still up. I was even turning it on at night LOL.

As much as I understand why you posted this.

I hate these "tests".

I don't "test" my gf. It just isn't something that I feel is right.
If you have an issue, you should talk about it.

I will admit. My gf has brought up why I didn't clean up a certain spot on the wall (insulation foam stuck on the wall). And I told her that I've tried several solvents to get rid of the stuff. This stuff has failed...unfortunately. So I have to find other solutions. Keep in mind, that I need to find solutions that do not make a mess, nor affect the health of her and our Yorkie (allergic reactions, etc.). So it is a little complicated, as I don't have much time on a normal basis as is.

So my gf has tested me on this. I understand why she did it.
But ultimately, I feel that rather than testing each other, both sides need to communicate rather than "hope" the other side will magically know what you want.

Okay, we all communicate as best we can. Sometimes, it would be nice if our husbands would notice the obvious.

OMG you read my mind This is my exact situation, I think I might leave it, I even offered to put it away together, I asked him to just please bring me the boxes from the storage and guess what? no boxes, so now I'm just going to see how long before he says something

You are so funny. I was waiting to see if he would take it down. My b/f is kind of a clean freak so he is the "put away" guy. Like if I leave something out, he will put it away or he's been bugging me about putting the tree away. He's really good with that stuff, yet he can't seem to put the toilet seat down So I got on him this weekend and I think 98% of the time the seat was down

I think if men wouldn't be so oblivious we wouldn't have to do these "tests". This was just a fun harmless test, he didn't even notice

My husband is 68 yrs old. We've been together for the last 20 yrs. I test him all of the time and he ties knots in the sleeves of my bathrobe. We laugh together, cry together and pray together. That's life. I think a little thing like a christmas tree test is fun. It keeps life interresting. The year I did the test the tree didn't get put away until the week before Easter! I came home and it was put away. We laughed. It wasn't a battle of wills, it was that he didn't notice that it was still up and he was doing the Easter dusting (that's another test) and noticed it in the middle of the living room.
