| ![]() I have to say I'd just feed him & take care of him, sooner or later maybe they will get tired of having to come get him & just let him stay at your house. ![]() If he was there after dark, I'd probably just let him inside & if they say anything tell them that you were just worried that the bears would get him & figured they would know where he was since he stays at your house a lot. |

| ![]() Amber (neighbors girlfriend) just came over to get Rusty. She said that she was just getting their dog so he could eat and sleep, but he would be over tomorrow! I wonder if she will get him in the house before he has a chance to run back over tonight?

Donating YT 11K Club Member | ![]() aww he is really cute, he should not be mistreated! no dog should, even if they are acting up but by the sound of it Rusty is not. he just wants to be loved. Please call someone, I don't know who but I know that animal planet has a show where they rescue animals. He needs to go to a loving home. |

| ![]() That's terrible! I think you should suggest taking Rusty. Rusty deserves a family that will love him!

| ![]() What a great person you are. He is adorable. We have a Chocolate Lab and Wyatt loves her. As soon as he goes outside he looks for her immediately and gives her all kinds of kisses. Here are a few pictures of them playing together. She is always so gentle with him and has never hurt him. Even when he takes food out of her mouth. As you can see Sadie & Wyatt are the best of friends.

| ![]() Cute pictures! Rusty plays so well with our big lab Luke and our German Sheppard Sophie. He even doesn't bother little Mojo....Mojo on the other hand, does not like him here....ya know, his house and all, but they don't bother each other when we are outside with them. Rusty's parents (Amber, the girlfriend) comes over every evening to "pick him up". The other day, she said that she felt like we should charge them for babysitting him. I thought that was funny. He does gladly jump in her car and every morning, he is over to play again....same thing every day! Although, they haven't gotten him yet. I think they really do want him.....the guy works two jobs at night, so I think those days he came over, he was tired and aggravated (still no excuse for his treatment with Rusty). They have had Rusty bathed and Frontline recently put on him...he is well fed and not skittish around us....so, I think all is working out! Plus, we got to met our neighbors......crazy huh?

So glad everything seems to be working out for everyone. He sounds like a great dog that just wants to play.

| ![]() Okay, all has seemed well with our neighbors and Rusty...yay...we were so excited! But then, they go and do this...... The other night, the neighbors didn't come to get Rusty...we just thought that maybe they were out of town or not home or something. Well, Rusty stayed over here all night (outside) and all night he barked and barked. ![]() So last night, the neighbors never came over, so my husband and daughter loaded up Rusty and took him home. The guy was just leaving for work (he works nights). My DH said that the neighbor jerked Rusty out of the truck bed by his front legs and then drug him into their garage. The neighbor said that since Rusty doesn't want to be at home, they are just going to leave him out for now on......odd, since a few days earlier, he was so worried about Rusty staying out all night (since he sleeps inside). Well, the guy left for work and his girlfriend said that he told her that it was too big of a hassle for her to come over every night to get him, so they are just going to let him stay out. My DH was not very happy and was upset because they have a nice pen for Rusty over there, that just needs to be fixed. DH doesn't mind for Rusty to be over, because he doesn't bother him and said that if he is still here tonight, he is NOT taking him home. So, I don't know if we should chance Rusty barking all night here or put him in the basement or what. If we do that, we will need to start feeding him too. - Then, he will never go home....which he doesn't now, until they get him and put him inside. What a mess! The funny thing too is that these people are real nature and animal lovers (or so they seem to think). They were concerned about if we hunted or not (we don't) since it is deer season and were concerned when my DH made my walking trail around our property line (they didn't know if we were putting in a road or going to build or something - which doesn't matter if we were since it was our land). Anyway, it is upsetting to hear them talk about loving nature and wildlife and such and then treating their own dog so poorly. Crazy people!

| ![]() why don't they just let you keep him? to me it seems like they don't really care about him and are just putting on a show. |

| ![]() Wow, this is like a soap opera! I check in on this thread every day looking for an update! It sounds to me like you've just found yourself a new dog. These people are not going to take care of Rusty and it sounds to me like you're too attached to the dog and caring of a person to just let him run wild. Best of luck in dealing with this situation!!

| ![]() yeah, we don't understand it either. Our first meeting with the neighbors, he was fed up with Rusty and didn't know what to do with him. The next meeting, he wanted him and just wanted to make sure he was okay and not bothering anyone. We even asked if he didn't want him and if not, we knew several families that would give him a good home. And then now......I am pretty sure, that we will just keep him here and start feeding him and such. Oh, what a mess! I guess we will see what happens tonight!
