Okay, all has seemed well with our neighbors and Rusty...yay...we were so excited! But then, they go and do this......
The other night, the neighbors didn't come to get Rusty...we just thought that maybe they were out of town or not home or something. Well, Rusty stayed over here all night (outside) and all night he barked and barked.
So last night, the neighbors never came over, so my husband and daughter loaded up Rusty and took him home. The guy was just leaving for work (he works nights). My DH said that the neighbor jerked Rusty out of the truck bed by his front legs and then drug him into their garage.
The neighbor said that since Rusty doesn't want to be at home, they are just going to leave him out for now on......odd, since a few days earlier, he was so worried about Rusty staying out all night (since he sleeps inside).
Well, the guy left for work and his girlfriend said that he told her that it was too big of a hassle for her to come over every night to get him, so they are just going to let him stay out.
My DH was not very happy and was upset because they have a nice pen for Rusty over there, that just needs to be fixed. DH doesn't mind for Rusty to be over, because he doesn't bother him and said that if he is still here tonight, he is NOT taking him home.
So, I don't know if we should chance Rusty barking all night here or put him in the basement or what. If we do that, we will need to start feeding him too. - Then, he will never go home....which he doesn't now, until they get him and put him inside.
What a mess!
The funny thing too is that these people are real nature and animal lovers (or so they seem to think). They were concerned about if we hunted or not (we don't) since it is deer season and were concerned when my DH made my walking trail around our property line (they didn't know if we were putting in a road or going to build or something - which doesn't matter if we were since it was our land).
Anyway, it is upsetting to hear them talk about loving nature and wildlife and such and then treating their own dog so poorly.
Crazy people!
