| Balled my eyes out today. I was watching animal police today and saw the saddest story ever....I wish they never showed the footage...I just cannot get the image of this poor dog out of my mind. They found this medium size dog...dont know the breed....in this ladys back yard with another dog. He was laying on his side.....just a skeleton.....could not even stand up.....he had maggots eating at his flesh.....his big beautiful brown sad eyes just staring up at the people who were trying to save him....but they could not and had to put him down....Im crying now writing this. This story completely broke my heart.....Thankfully the big FAT lady who owned him was arrested and the other dog was taken away too but why did it have to come to this....This poor poor sweet baby could have had such a happy healthy life with someone else but was stuck with this SICK person who just didnt care. I just dont get it, how can people be so cruel.....I dont know if I can ever get this image out of my head or even watch this show anymore. It really hit me hard. My prayers go out to this poor little guy who is at rainbow bridge now. God Love Him. Please all send out a prayer for him. :hands

| I saw this too, it was horrible. The poor dog had no muscle left because he was literally starving to death. I think the woman was arrested and taken to jail...which is where she belongs. |

| She doesn't belong IN jail, she belongs UNDER the jail! Some folks need a good a$$ whipping for treating animals the way they do! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I saw that one too - What a horrible horrible episode that was. I know just what you mean...I was crying too.....my husband almost banned me from watching that show...(like he has any say so....i just watch it on the small tv) but man - - they do haunt you...I bet you don't stop thinking about it for days if you're like me. I could NEVER do that job without landing in jail myself I don't think. |

| Unfortunately ladies, there are some really sick people in this world. We can never care enough to make up for these people, but it's sure worth a try. We can only be comforted by the fact that this little angel is now playing with my Chester and everyone else's pet who has crossed Rainbow Bridge. Just think, there he is, running, healthy, happy and having the time of his life with the babies we have turned back over to God. We just have to keep this image in our minds and not the ugly part of their life here on earth. At least the suffering is over for this baby, and that, is a good thing. |

| You know what really gets me, is that these poor babies don't ask to be in that situation...They can't talk and defend themselves... I wish & I know alot of you will think this is awful, but I wish that somehow these people that are so cruel to animals would get the same treatment...They should chain that woman & starve her to the same point as that precious baby...RIP sweet angel, at least now you can have some peace and run and be happy.....

| Im so glad that you all responed to this...........Im still sick over it........I keep thinking that there MUST be SOMETHING that I can do. I know that we can not save them all but I do know that every little bit helps.... I think that I am going to see what I can do, and maybe volunteer somewhere near me. There must be a purpose for all of this saddness that I am feeling. Tomorow I am going to look into something near me...I dunno, maybe I can help in some small way....to help make a better life for these poor innocent souls. God Bless.

| I cannot understand why people get and then keep animals that they won't take care of. OK, so they get them because a friend's, brother's, fiance's dog had puppies and they were giving them away, and who can resist a puppy, but once you figure out that you are no longer intersted in it then why keep it penned up or chained up and never care for it. Give it away, drop it off at a shelter, tell them you found it, turn it loose so someone else can find it, but don't let it starve to death. I really believe the way to decrease the number of unwanted or free puppies, is to initiate free spay and neuter clinics. The people that get these dogs for free, cannot afford to feed then, let alone get them spayed or neutered. If the cities, counties, states, etc. would support spay and neuter clinics it would definitely decrease the number of puppies and kittens given away to people who cannot afford them, that ultimately end up in the shelters. |

| I can't watch those shows. I cry all the way thru them. I still cry over Bambi. My dtr was laughing at me tonite cause I was swatting at flies - but just stunning them then throwing them outside. I accidently stepped on a giant slug in the back yard and felt awful for days. I am the person you will see swerving all over the road trying to miss frogs and wooly bears. I am a marshmallow!

| I hate to watch such shows too but I think as animal owners we really need to watch them just to remind us to spay and neuter our pets. I also agree with the post above about low cost or free spay/neuter clinics. I was the City Secretary for our little town and it broke my heart to see the animal control truck loaded with pets that I knew would be put to sleep. There is no real solution though other than personal responsibility. I wish somehow that people who have a voice would promote rescue animals. If we can afford our expensive little babies, we should also be able to donate to animal shelters, rescue organizations & spay/neuter clinics. Wouldn't it be wonderful if Hollywood personalities other than Bob Barker cared about the animal population? |
