| If you burned the new skin it is a good old fashioned sunburn. Take it from one who has spent their entire life in the burn-blister-peel cycle. The itching is horrible because as soon as you scratch one spot, it travels to another, then everything itches and you can't relieve it. Noxema, aloe lotion, iced tea all help. You may have stayed in too long. You may start developing little blisters which will pop and you'll start peeling. Be careful you didn't get sun poisoning. Now, there's some wicked itching, if you did. Good luck. Let the burn turn to tan before you back into the bed and if you peel, make sure you let the new skin grow back before you retan. I don't know much about Yorkies, but I am a professional burner expert.

| One more thing, if you used the standing kind, there's a good chance they let you stay in too long. Those are far more powerful that the lay down beds with bulbs.

| Sometimes what you eat or even medications you take can cause a reaction. Like any itchy rash but without the rash. See if you can get ahold of a list of things that react with tanning beds.....you would be surprised what you should not eat or use while tanning

| that happens to most people when they first start going to the tanning bed. Once you get in cycle of going, it will go away. |

| Put your finger on a spot where it itches. Push in then take it away. If you see a whiter imprint of your finger, sweetie, you got a burn. You may be taking awhile for the redness to show. Or maybe your base skin coloring has enough color that the red won't show as well. I am a redhead with freckles and pale skin. So it's pretty obvious on me. I get burnt when the sun reflects off the snow. If I get sun poisoning, i get it everywhere but where the freckles are - they just keep tanning. I spent my youth burning myself trying to run the freckles together so I would finally have a tan - doesn't work that way.

| Noxema, iced tea, aloe lotion all work. I don't know about Lanacain or Gold Bond. They might.

| If you are dark complected, then, like GraciesMom said, alot of medications will react to sun light. If you are taking a prescription, look for a sticker with a sun on it. Anything else, check the labels.

| LOL - drinking it won't help unless it's Long Island Iced Tea. Actually, if you make up a batch with teabags, then just pour it over the burn (if you are burned). It helps with the pain and the itching. It's a very old remedy. I prefer to let it be luke warm or a little cooler. If you are burned, everything will feel alot colder on your skin. Noxema works great but it is like ice when you put it on. Again, this is if you have a burn.
