| Today for the first time ever I got pulled over by the State Police! I am 49 years old and have NEVER been pulled over for ANYTHING and all of a sudden I've got blue lights in my rearview mirror. I was on the way back to the office after lunch. Not speeding, in the left hand lane, not even on my cell phone. I pulled into a shopping center and the trooper asked for my license, etc and I'm just sitting there looking at him like a big dummy. He checked everything and asked if I'd bought my new tag decal yet. I said "Yes, isn't it on there?" He told me it wasn't and that mine had expired. I bought mine by mail in May and right after that, I moved to my new house. I DON'T KNOW WHERE IT IS! He ran my tag# and knew that I'd bought it so he wrote me a warning for that, THEN wrote me another warning because he said I couldn't ride in the left hand lane I told him I was going to turn left into my office right up the road and he says in this DEEP voice "Ma'am, you had cars passing you on the right". Well, I was doing the speed limit, so guys, weren't THEY speeding? I had to go to the tag office and buy a NEW decal. When I got back to work, others told me they saw other troopers with cars pulled over all up and down the highway where we work. What gives? After all these years driving, this little guy 'bout scared me gray. I'm going to have to buy more L'Oreal! ' Just venting!

| Sorry - that really sucks!! State boys are known to be bad news - never let anyone off for anything. If they had folks pulled over all up and down the highway - this was a planned ticket day!! Obviously you are a good, safe driver if you've made it this long without being pulled over. Just dismiss the little guy out of your head!

| I am so very sorry. I know it must have been a scary, embarassing, frustrating event for you. It is really the pits when a good safe driver is pulled over for an expired tag when the roads are full of complete idiots behind the wheel, each thinking that they are race car drivers, that or they have death wishes.... |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | That stinks! I know where I live they are putting extra police out from now until after the labor day weekend is over.

| Boy, I know how you feel...I have never ever been pulled over and about 6 months ago, I got pulled over for speeding. It was a lady cop and she said, "ma'm, do you know why I pulled you over?" I said, "no, not really". She said I was speeding, but I had people passing me left and right, and I was in the slow lane. I said, "oh, well I was just keeping up with traffic" and she just gave me a warning. I think I was the only one she could catch, LOL!! I knew it was just a matter of time though before I was pulled over, as I drive a red corvette. My heart just pounded away though for a quite a while afterwards though. My son thought it was really funny...he says I drive like a grandma and that car is wasted on me!!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | LOL !! Good for you never getting a ticket - I drove Corvettes for the last 10 years and spent a TON of time in court. I did win all my cases but for one and that was cause the Same STATE TROOPER pulled me twice over only a week apart. OOOPS ! I got out of one ticket cause I told the cop I was blowdrying my hair out the window....another ticket cause HIS HAT FLEW OFF...then went over my car....down the street....& into a field LOL! He ws more worried about his hat than me - especially after I offered to run after it. |

| Here in Jersey... and I think in a few other states in the NE - it's posted "STAY RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS" and they will ticket you for riding in the left lane - even if the whole road is empty. If you were going the speed limit then - I think the trooper would have better served the public by pulling those guys over. It's more of a traffic hazzard when drivers attempt to pass on the right! Knock on wood! I haven't been pulled over for 10 years now. The last time I got a ticket for driving 37 in a 25. I was deliberately speeding because I was so depressed and grieving and my eyes were so sore from crying. I was taking my middle son to Kindergarten camp and decided to TRY to pick everyone up a bit. The day before our beautiful regal GSD Sunday had passed away suddenly (RIP my beloved girl - I miss you still) and my family was shattered. When the cop pulled me over and asked if I knew I was speeding I burst in to tears and told him that my dog had died! He gave me a ticket and never said anything about my tears or my dog - or the fact that my 4 children were all bawling in the car...and it was only 8:00 in the morning. |
