| pieces of the plane FALLING OFF Soooo My brother was to be in Vegas. My dad got onto an airline tracking site to see where his flight was and said it had been diverted to Indianapolis. So he calls my brother's cell and it goes to voicemail. My brother immediately called back and said he was sitting on the plane and it was surrounded by firetrucks. Pieces of the plane had fallen off during flight My dad told him to call back when they knew what was going on. So he did. And said that America West was seeing if a plane from Dallas could come up to get them. Then he calls back a bit later saying that he will be staying in a hotel in Indianapolis and catching a flight tomorrow. Ok...so if I were in that plane...I would refuse to fly back to Ohio. I would go out and buy a freakin bus ticket. If you want me to get back on that flight then you better have a sedative waiting for me. My dad said my brother was more concerned about whether or not the airline would pay for the liquor he got while in flight during their beverage service. LOL. I'm glad he's staying in hotel. I really didn't want to hear about America West Flight #538 crashing But if I were on that plane...there would be no way in hell I'd get on another. I seriously would just take my luggage and consider buying a bus ticket for the 8 hour busride back to Ohio yikes <3 Sissa

| Glad to hear he's okay! Yep, I'd probably have to check into a rental car or another means of transportation to get me where I was headed - too much of a "sign" for me - I'd take the hint and find another way.

| This is why even after flying over 10 times I am still a nervous wreck. I am glad that your brother is safe and I am with you I would get a bus ticket or rental car and remain on the ground on my way back home.

| arrived Okay here's the update lol: He called later and said that america west was going to try and see if some plane from dallas could come up and get everyone. He called back after and said they were staying the night in Indy. Oh but it gets better: The "room"? Had no beds. So my brother and his friend stayed up all night and watched TV (wasn't even a hotel...the airline called it some hospitality thing). We get a call at 5:30am sayng that they were put on a flight but that first this plane had to fly FROM INDY TO BOSTON THEN TO VEGAS. So he went away from Vegas then TO Vegas. The flight from Boston to Vegas? A little over six hours That's two hours LESS than from when we went to ITALY. He gets to Vegas...but his luggage doesn't. He is ticked off. "It took me 24 hours to get here...I could've been in Australia before this! I am on a plane that had pieces missing, put in a 'hotel' with no beds, thrown on a plane to boston which is the OTHER direction...six hour flight here...now 24 hours later I'm here and I HAVE NO CLOTHES EXCEPT FOR WHAT I'M WEARING" (I censored that for you lol he was dropping some pretty vulgar terms...but then again I would too). He called expedia and they reimbursed him for the room (I thought the airline did that?) and he's going to see if he can change his ticket free of charge to stay an extra day. My dad told him to try and see if he can get a free ticket out of it because of everything that happened. So a busted airplane, one crappy hotel room, six hour flight to vegas and no luggage later...he has made it.

I'm so glad he made it! I've flown several times, but if pieces of the plane were missing I'd be like a cat digging it's claws in the doors to keep from getting back on one! Kim and Lucy | |
