| Yorkie or Maltese??? So I wanted to know what you guys think I should do. I have been looking for a yorkie friend for Benji and I have been dying to get a girl. Well my cousin's Maltese's just had babies about 10 weeks ago and they are ready to go to a new home. They have been wanting us to get one since they were born and as soon as I saw them I fell in love!!!! She wants $500 for one of the little girls. She is selling the other two for $1000 so I thought we were getting a pretty good deal. I am just nervous that if I get a maltese I will still want another yorkie and not be able to get one. I wouldn't be able to get a yorkie right now anyways since they are a lot more money than $500. So should I wait and get a yorkie in the future or get a white fluff ball right now?

| There is nothing like a Maltese ... they are so different from Yorkies. I have 1 of each and I LOVE the combo!! I would get a Maltese and then get another Yorkie in the future.

| You may get a maltese and want another MALTESE in the future... lol I sure do. I'm assuming since your cousin has a maltese that you are familiar with the care they require and personality they have. What do you think of your cousin's maltese? Only you can decide if a maltese is right for you...But for $500! I would! |

| I absolutely love my cousin's maltese. The only thing I am worried about it the red boogies they get. I clean Benji's face everyday so I would clean the malteses face too but I just don't want her to look like I don't bathe them properly and stuff. I think I am going to do it. I think Benji would love having a sister in the house! Quote:

| Oh I think you should I have Yorkies but I bought my Dad a Maltese. He loves her But I wish I would of given him a yorkie because the Maltese is more upkeep then the yorkie especially for some one older. |

| I have Yorkies, my Mom has Malteses, and they get along really well. They seem to be calmer, especially in the puppy stages. They are more upkeep though because of one just being white and two, they seem to matt a lot easier than a silk coated Yorkie. Just a note, you mentioned red eye goobers, I think red is a sign of a yeast infection or something and not normal and can be treated with antibiotics. |
