3 days is great....when you start wanting one real bad let us know, and we will talk you out of it....:) |
A lot of people that smoke, including my friend, just have an oral fixation...they always need something in their mouth. That is such a good idea for your bf to get lollipops! Gum, pen top, ect. are also all good choices to substitute for that cigarette in your mouth! Sounds like you have a great support system! |
good luck, I wish my mom would quit. I couldnt imagine losing her!! |
it must be really hard. good for you for trying to quit though!!!! they have these fake cigarette things that i heard work kind of well. my friend is trying to quit and that is what he is using. it's been a week and so far he hasn't smoked. just think about your little baby lexi. she wants you to be around forever!!! |
i do have a great support system,, all my yorkie talk friends, thats where i am all day long.... i get more support from you gals then anyone else and i thank you all... now dont stop.. kidding.. i just got to get it over tonight..its much easier at work, im more occupied, you know the phones ring here and im on yt talking all day with you all. when i get home, i get bored and really look for that one smoke,, but i wont have any and neither will my b/f.. im probaby gonna choke him tonight. kidding. |
Gina - you can do it!!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: I did it and it was the hardest thing. I have gone now 3 years and I still crave it when I see someone smoking because I LOVED it but I know you can do it. You know what helped me? It was the fact that I was addicted to something that was materialistic - ya know. I think that made me feel weak that a cigarette controlled my day but it was still hard. GOOOO GINA!!!!!! :goodluck: :goodluck: |
thank you,, im going home now, i hope i can stay smoke free till tomorrow. one day at a time.. thats the way i have to think. thank for all the encourgement... |

The hardest thing for me is to quit smoking!!! Both the fiance and I smoke.....and its so easy to say your gonna quit but when it comes down to doing it is another thing. Stay strong keep yourself busy what helps me is sunflower seed or suckers. Just think in the future you will be more healthy and your hair will smell better too. (now I need to take my own advice and quit!!!!) Come on girl you can do it!! |
Have you tried anything else? I quit using Zyban. I was able to smoke for about 10 days then I didn't want one any more and I still dont after 2yrs. Good luck. |
You can do it Gina!! Try treating yourself to something ea time you make a goal of not smoking. Shopping always does it for me! |
Gina I know exactly how you feel. On September 1, 2004 I decided to quit smoking. I went cold turkey and to this day it is something that I struggle with everyday. I think about smoking everyday but for me it is like a WWE Wrestling match and its me against the cigarette. When I look at it that way it is easy for me to get it out of mind because for so long I looked at a cigarette as somewhat of a friend. It was there when I needed it. Once I decided that I wanted to live a longer, healthier life I realized that the cigarette is my #1 ENEMY and I had to beat it. So now that I have Newport Lights in the Head Lock, I wake up each morning proud that I went one more day without giving in to them. I know that it is hard but the first 3 days were the hardest for me because it is more of a routine breaker in the beginning then the situations come along when you would normally turn to a cigarette for comfort, but the key for me was to look at the cigarette as the ENEMY and you will beat it every time. I hope and pray that it will become easier and easier for you to get through the day without a cigarette because you have made the right decision to quit. WAY TO GO GINA!!!! WAY TO GO GINA!!!! WAY TO GO GINA!!!! WAY TO GO GINA!!!! |
devoted to Lucy! I think it's wonderful that you're quitting! Good luck to you and your b/f!!! |
