It's hard to understand because we love our babies, but honestly I don't like going to other people's homes when they have animals. I really don't know how others keep their animals, so even though I'm an animal lover, I get grossed out pretty easily by how some people keep their pets. I've just learned to accept that and I have far too many good people in my life to alienate them because of their preferences. But I also don't alienate Coco because she's my family as well. It's a fine line.

I hope that helps a little. I know you are in a tough spot but you have to decide if this woman is important in your life or not. My family is important to me so if they love Coco but just don't want to sleep with her, I'm ok with that. But if a random friend doesn't want to come over because of Coco I would not be. I have a friend who loves coco but doesn't like Coco to lick her, so I try to be careful and teach Coco guest manners. Maybe you can let the babies play outside in the yard while you guys are inside. The men will be with them outside while they are bbq'ing right?

I agree 100%. Invite them over, and if she doesn't want to come, then WHO CARES! That's less dishes you have to wash! Just let her hubby come and let him leave her at home!

maybe im like this cause i have no human children. but i must admits, im nutso and im fine with that.... seriously how can anyone not like animals, what were they born under a rock..?.. have a heaaaart , just cant imagine it.
and just by not liking animals, i dont like them.

To be honest. I really good careless if she came over or not. I dont like ppl..I dont trust them sand shes one of those that is pushy.(her business) and tries to be somebody shes not. I have founbd after I decided not to join her business she doesnt talk to me as much so pretty screw her....BUT im looking at it for my husband...him and Arron are pretty good friends and he dont use Jeff like Jeffs other friends do so im trying to make everybody happy. WE may just forgo the bbq......and he can go out and hang out out there so i dont have to deal with any of it!!!

Gina, I again agree with you 100%. I don't have any children either. My 2 yorkies are literally my kids and I treat them like they are. My hubby's parents are too fond of our dogs, but you know what, they live out of town and they will not under any circumstances see us unless they allow our dogs in their home and are nice to them. My hubby told them that. I mean, how can you NOT like animals? I'm VERY suspicious of people who don't like animals. HAVE A HEART!

You are very considerate to think of your hubbys feelings. If I were you, I would plan to have the bbq and invite BOTH of them. Then she can choose whether she wants to come or not. THen the ball won't be in your court...it will be in hers. You know what I mean?

Yes I agree. I have 2 human children also and I am the same with them.. You dont want my kids over with me than screw ya...you dont get me either!!

Great idea Rebecca! Get in your hubby's good graces so he knows how much you care about his feelings and if they decide not to come, you won't look like the bad guy. And if she asks you to put them away, just say that you are sorry but you cannot do that, it is their home.

oooooooo that would sure burn me up! I would have her over and just kill her with kindness. If she asks you to put them up, kindly tell her that they are part of your family and that you are not going to punish them like that..
