| Vacation Hey, I just got back from a fabulous vacation. We went to Schlitterbahn and then on to Port Aransas. It was great. I just wondered if anyone has been on a good vacation this summer. I hope everyone gets to go somewhere this summer.

| Your vacation sounds FABULOUS! Unfortunately I don't get to go on vacation this summer. My whole entire family, parents, grandparents, sisters, are taking an 11 day Caribbean cruise leaving on Friday. They invited my hubby and me to go, but hubby has to work and there is no way he can get off. I would just go without him, but they will be gone over our first wedding anniversary. My hubby would not be happy AT ALL if I left him for our first wedding anniversary! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Cool - Port Aransas is really pretty. Have you ever tubed down the Guateloupe ? now THAT's fun but plan to spend the whole day on the river. I made the mistake of going on a weekend to San Antonio with my Ex husband and we did the river - if we hadn't been divorced already - we sure would have been after THAT day. I dumped the beer cooler over and knocked out his contact lens trying to save my swim top ....I think he was more pissed about the beer |

| Yes, we did tube down the guadalupe river. The river was kinda low, though. It was fun though. We also went to schlitterbahn two days. I know what you mean about the beer. I probably could drown as long as I save his beer he would be okay. LOL

| We had a great vacation to northern California and Oregon. Then we spent several weeks in the mountains of Colorado and New Mexico. Cooooool heaven!!! I live in Austin so am less than an hour away from Schlitterbahn. We always take family and visitors there in the summer time - it is GREAT fun. I love Port Aransas, but not in the summer! It's too hot and sticky for me - we go in the winter - now that's when I love the beach!!! And yes, Villette, I too have toobed the Guadalupe and I have also dumped the cooler, lost my swim suit, my sunglasses, my flip flops, and probably other things that I can't just now recall! It is a blast!!!!!

| It sounds like ya'll had a great time. What is Port Aransas like in the winter? Is the water warm? Also where is a good place to stay? We stayed at a penthouse overlooking the ocean. It was beautiful. But, really expensive. It was not on the beach but had its own personal fishing pier. We would like to stay somewhere close to the beach but not so expensive.

| I like it in the winter because it is not so hot and humid - no, the water is not warm. I'm sorry, not sure where to stay - we have a travel trailer and stay in it - or in my husband's fishing cabin - which is not in Port Aransas, but close enough to visit. I just prefer the Texas coast in the winter because it is usually warm (but not warm enough to get into the water), but not so horribly hot and humid as in the summer.
