Look! Whether she's doing it for her own benefit or otherwise...the fact is that those countries she's going to ARE getting some attention. She's donating her money which will encourage others to do the same.

If she was an average person, she would not be getting the publicity but because of her fame, she's going to be shown on tv and such.

Who cares for the reasons WHY she's doing it, the fact is she IS doing something.

she's going there so that she can say, "oh I'm such a great person!" so people end up spending all of their time fighting about how she's 'such a great person' instead of thinking about the families that they saw in the pictures with her.

I don't know if her motives for visting these countries are selfish or not, but her prescence has at least shifted people's attention, to a bigger issue. But I really hope, for her sake, she doesn't think that helping other people, exscuses her pattern of dating married men. If she wasn't famoues, she would just be written off as another hussie.

Yup on that part

No one person can't fix the problem but one person taking pictures with people also doesn't solve anything.

In January 2006 Jolie – together with her boyfriend Brad Pitt – flew to Haiti and visited a school supported by Yele Haiti, a charity founded by Haitian-born hip hop musician Wyclef Jean, where they watched children dance and recite poetry. Jolie also arranged a deal with People magazine allowing them to print the first picture showing her visibly pregnant in exchange for a $500,000 donation to Yele Haiti.

During an extended stay in Namibia, as she awaited the birth of her daughter, Jolie promoted the Global Education Week in an interview with NBC; she urged for the wealthy nations to help all the world's children go to school. She also took part in a conference call with UK Chancellor Gordon Brown, who has pledged an extra $16 billion towards universal free education.

So, say what you will, but she has done more than 99% of the rest of the world is doing to help make the world a better place.

Wow her website has a plethora of information doesn't it! Yea these didn't make it on MY news station but I'm sure her site is filled with these AWESOME pieces of information

They didn't come from HER website. They came from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angelina_Jolie, which is an unbiased online encyclopedia.

Which I've been to before and I wouldn't exactly consider a news related website or a website that informs people of what is going on around the world.

I'm am so shocked this thread hasn't been closed yet!! I know this was started as a joke but everyone is personally attacking eachother and this is not what yt is about! everyone has the right to thier own opinion and regardless if she is a celeberty or not if i was to start a post about how i hated someone on yt and it turned into something like this don't you think the person it was about would be devastated? it's ok not to like someone but to personally attack someone (Espeacially when you don't know them personally your just going by what you watch on tv or read in the paper) is wrong in anyway you look at it and this might have started as a joke but it isn't one anymore. It goes back to the saying "IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL!!"[/ Just a suggestion!

I don't think anyone has really attacked each other here. We're all just stating our opinions about a celebrity and reasons of why we like or dislike her. It did start out as a joke until some people got angry and took it seriously even though it was clearly stated that the thread was started for a specific laughing purpose. If you notice, we always take it back to the laughter and jokes. No one has been attacked or violated here. besides it's the off topic DISCUSSION not the ONE SIDED CONVERSATIONS. People that like her can stay away from this thread if it makes them angry (not talking about you amber
