| Texa's People..... Hello YT members.... Well i need opinion's...Ok i know theres alot of Yt members that live in Texas so i would like to ask you guys how it is out there ...I work for a home warranty company...On friday my manager asked me if i had a min. because she need to talk to me so i said, "sure what is it"...Then she started to say how much she was proud of me and how much she loved working with me...I was like ok thank you...At that point i didnt know were she was going with all this...Then she said there was going to be a spot opening in Odessa, Texas as a manager in about 6months and they wanted me to fill that spot ...I was really happy that they had consider me for that spot even though i havent been with there company for long...So i asked if i can think about it before i gave them a answer, she said, "Take your time were not in a rush"...Anywho i dont know were this is at, i dont know anyone in Texas or know what type of city this is but i wouldnt mind one bit to move out there just because the cost of living isnt as high as it is out here in Cali. if i was to sell my house i could probably be able to buy two homes out there...Which would be pretty cool...lol...Well what do you guys have to say about Odessa, Taxes...I would really like some info. Thanks

| Wasn't Friday night Lights in the Midland-Odessa area? LOL Sorry I can't help...I've never been that far west. I've always lived in the north and northeast part of the state.

| The Midland-Odessa area of Texas is rather flat and can be kind of windy. It has been several years since I have been to that part of the state though.

| I have lived in Midland I lived in Midland for about 9 years when I was in elementary and in high school. I would go visit...west Texas isn't everyones cup of tea! I am scared to put my honest opinion on here because I don't want to hurt anyones feelings. That being said...if you would like to pm me, I would be more than happy to tell you some things about the area |

As for Odesa...I see that you are from california, its going to be nothing like it. Its even smaller than El paso tx. And El paso texas is not exciting at all.

| It's pretty different from CA - I can tell you that for sure. Folks are pretty conservative. It's flat, you can see forever and there are very very few trees or any vegetation. It's dry and crops are irrigated, otherwise nothing would grow. It's hot hot hot - but then it is hot everywhere in Texas right now. It's cold in the winter and it can snow sideways!!! The wind blows pretty much in all seasons. They can have dust storms that are pretty spectacular. The wind blows and the dust is so thick it looks like a big brown cloud. There's quite a few rich folks - lots of gas and oil in the area. I would DEFINITELY visit and spend a few days in the area before making the move. I live in Austin TX, I love it, and would never consider living in west Texas (Odessa area) it's way too conservative for me - but that's just me. As someone said though, the cost of living is much much less than CA.
