| In hope....An animal Shelter story. I have seen some debate on here about how some people think that animal breeding is a right. Please watch this video. http://brightlion.com/InHope/InHope_en.aspx |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | For every animal that dies in a Shelter - there is someone RESPONSIBLE for it's death. THAT SAYS IT ALL. While I've seen that Video I watched it again and it made me cry again. EVERYONE NEEDS TO SEE THIS. Thank you for posting it. |

Sorry if anyone thinks it's bad for me to show my son that video. I don't believe in sheltering him, but instead educating him about it.

| I think it is important to post videos like this even though I sat here in tears. I have visited shelters on more than one occasion and I am saddened every time to see sweet dogs discarded. Please spay and neuter your pets and give shelter dogs a chance.

| A few months ago, we rescued a cocker spaniel that had mange so bad that he had no hair on his body. Someone had dumped him by the side of the road. My husband and I took him to the vet and the vet suggested we put him down. My husband said no, we would like to give him a chance. With medication daily for three months and a bath in medicated shampoo, I am happy to say that he is beautiful now. Our plan was to find him a new home because we already have several dogs, but he has found a home with us. I wish I could rescue every animal that is homeless. I spoke with the local animal shelter after we picked him up and they said they would take him but would most likely have to put him down. She also told me that they have many animals that just need someone to visit them and hold them because they are so scared. I am trying to get enough courage to do this, but I am not sure I can handle some of the situations. Just thinking about makes me weep. God bless the people that try to take care of these animals. The video was heart breaking but needs to be viewed by many. |

The Shelters are just too full to treat these animals and I know that wasn't their intention when they opened - I bet they all had high hopes of saving animals but the problem is SO severe they are just too overloaded... we all can learn from your post....and thank you for saving that Cocker Spaniel.

| I haven't learned how to post pictures, but will try to do that soon and post a before and after picture. It is almost unbelievable. His body was so sore he cried when we touched him but didn't try to bite. He is so sweet and about 2 years old according to the vet. He doesn't like children, but we have a bunch of grandchildren and he is learning that nobody is going to hurt him again. |
