| With her history of heart problems, I would think that sitting with her feet up ... higher than her heart ... would relieve the swelling. My Mom had heart surgery and they took vessels from her leg for the heart bypass [3 of them] and hers swell like that. Having her feet propped up causes the swelling to go down. Has she talked to her doctor about this? I hope she will be OK!

Great advice but, I would also go ahead and call her doctor and see what they suggest.

| have you tried www.webmd.com? they have this thing where you check off a list of symptoms and they give you ideas of what could possibly be wrong? and also yes feet up will help with the swelling. i hope your mom feels better! i hate when my mommy or daddy is sick. |

| I don't want to alarm you, but swollen legs and fatique are signs of congestive heart failure, VERY SERIOUS. Your mother should consult a dr (over the phone) if she is not going to see one, expecially with her history of heart problems. |

| I agree she should just call. That won't cost her. Maybe you can call her DR for her. It might be something more serious with her heart and needs to see a DR. Calling can't hurt.

| Absolutely, at least call her doctor!! Meanwhile, get those little feet propped up higher than her heart! Don't let her just prop them in a "prissy" way, barely off the floor ... my Mom tries that with us! They need to be up ... higher than her heart! Please keep us updated.

| Yes, feet up for sure. Also, have it checked by a doctor even more importantly. Has she ever been tested for diabetes? I have seen what you're describing happen with diabetics and it is definately betterto be safe than sorry. |
