With her history of heart problems, I would think that sitting with her feet up ... higher than her heart ... would relieve the swelling. My Mom had heart surgery and they took vessels from her leg for the heart bypass [3 of them] and hers swell like that. Having her feet propped up causes the swelling to go down. Has she talked to her doctor about this? I hope she will be OK!
