BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | Embarrasing Question I have a question for you ladies who have unwanted facial hair. About 5 years ago I noticed that I had hair on my chin that I had to pluck every so offten, well now it has gotten way out of hand and I have to shave everyday! This is not fun and it's very depressing. I went to my doctor and talked to him and all he wanted to do was put me on birth control, well I have had my tubes tied and I really dont need to be put on that. I did give it a try and all I did was vomit while being on it, I tried the patch but I do not like the things I have heard about it. He also said I could be put on a steroid! Does anyone else have this problem and what are you doing to help it? I know about the lazer surgery but right now I dont have the funds for something like that. I did a search on this and found this cream called Vaniqa and it's a RX, so I thought I would call them back and ask them about it. Please please if you have any advice for me! |

| Sorry...I don't have any answers for you...but just thought I would weigh in here and say....hormonal problems suck don't they?? I haven't noticed any hairs on my chin, but I do notice the ones on my eyebrows are getting lower every time I pluck! At least they are light colored (I know probably gray ) but I still can't stand them!!

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Hair removal Why don't you use a depilatory cream such as Neet to remove the hair. It will stay away longer. The shaving will give you that shadow that men have and make it grow coarser. I use Neet on my mustache...lol. I have jet black hair so the hair on my upper lip tends to be a bit dark. I either get waxed or when I am feeling like being thrifty I use the Neet. They come in nice size applicators now so you can use a different one depending on where you are using it. Give it a try. I am sure that it will work much better and not leave razor bumps or that dark shadow associated with shaving that men have. It will also remove the hair from the root so it will take longer to grow in.

| That really sucks. I get really sick from birth control, too, so I know how you feel. Why don't you try bleaching your hair? I think that since you started shaving/plucking it will grow in even more and thicker, so maybe that is out of the question. My friend who is Italian and has dark hair on her head bleaches her face and you can't even tell.

| I wanted to tell you that I use Nair wax strips on my stache and they work great. I don't like bleaches because the hair is still there just lighter. The wax strips are like 5 bucks and it pulls the hair from the root so it stays away longer.

The newer neet is great. I used it once several years ago and it did a number on my skin. I recently decided to retry it because they modified the formulas. They are now made with baby oil and other softners that help with your skin. It will come back in a couple days in the beginning but after a bit it will slow down the growth. Shaving definitely encourages growth if you ask me. Give it a try and see how things go. I would definitely not shave...you are going to make the hair coarser and accelerate the growth.

| You could try electrolysis. If there isn't a whole lot of hair it should be pretty cheap (and permanent!). A lot of places will do a free consult, so there's really nothing to lose... You usually don't want to do laser on the face as there have been reports of it stimulating more hair growth in women Fortunately I don't have that problem.... yet! Who knows, I might in a couple years! I know that my Mom bleaches hers... If it was me, I'd probably wax. |

| I've always used Nair for the face. I have a mustache and hair growing on my chin. It works great for me. I usually apply it in the evening and then use my moisturizer. I especially make sure I use it of an evening during hot weather. I sweat so much when I'm outside working that I was afraid it would get irritated. So far none of that.

| Just so happens I'm on the phone w/ my gf and she works for a Doctor, so I just asked about the Vaniqua you mentioned, she said a couple of people at her office have been prescribed it, but she doesn't know how it works, cause it is a very expensive prescription and she doesn't know if anyone has had it filled, or they have not been back to the office since getting the prescription. Ya might wanna ask how much it is, before ya get a prescription...

| I would go to a salon and have it waxed. It should be fairly inexpensive since the job wouldn’t require the precision of something like eyebrows. It would take longer to grow back, and over time, I would imagine it would come in lighter thinner.

The problem is, I have been using a razor and shaving it for over a year now and it's getting very corse, so I dont know how waxing would do, I would have to let it grow for a few days, that way when I had it waxed, there would be something for it to grab on to. I bought some nair today and I'm going to try it before I go to bed. I'm just so fed up with this, it's very discouraging and depressing. Thanks for every ones im-put, I really appreciate it! | |
