| need suggestions, help!!! We seem to have an ant problem in our bathroom. We have used those traps for ants and they don't work at all. I am afraid to spray, I don't want my dogs or cats to come in contact with it as it can be posinous for them. Are there any ant pesticides that are pet friendly??? What should I do, does any one have any ideas???

| At the school I worked at they used Baby Powder, the ants don't like it and they go away. They also don't like Avon's Skin so Soft. Best of luck to you, ants are so tiny, but they sure are a big pain in the butt at times.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Flour I read somewhere that you can put flour down and they won't cross it. I am about to do that by my front and back doors. I hate this time of year for the ants invading the place. I will let you know if it works. Worst case scenario I have bread growing in my doorways..

| Per my old (before I moved and haven't found anyone else) exterminator, I used Ortho Home Defense last year. Kept the pets off the area until dried and they were perfectly fine. All I sprayed was the baseboards at the floor and alond door entrances. I also had one spot they loved coming into, so I sprayed that as well. Outside, I sprayed all the entrances and around the windows. No problem at all, all season long and still this year I have seen no ants. I am in an area where they are prominent year round, so I highly recommend this stuff. As far as natural products, boric acid works, but would not control out over-population. They walk through it and it causes tiny lacerations and they dry up and die. Works for fleas as well. You can get it at Home Depot...saw some today!! Good luck. I know what a nuisance they can be...

| I use a product called Terro. It comes in a small bottle and looks like clear syrup and it has borax in it. You put a drop of it on a piece of cardboard and the ants eat it, but they don't die until they go back to their home. Every day you'll have less and less ants show up and finally they're all gone. The down side of this is that you have to deal with ants for a few days before they're completely gone, but it seems to get rid of all of them. Good luck!!

| Call Terminix! I use them! They are very pet & kid friendly. There was even a pregnant lady who sprayed the house for me! LOL! I made sure an asked like a million times that it was pet & kid safe & they said yes! And the ants are gone! Yay!

| Ants! Tucker thinks they are a delicacy! He ate a whole bunch in our bathroom. You can also sprinke cinnamon. They don't like it and the pets won't lick it up, they don't like it either. Except Tucker, he thought I was just coating the ants for a fancy dessert! If you do nothing they go away in about 2 weeks on their own.

Ants are good for the home, they eat termite eggs. I just don't like sharing my living space with them but they are welcome in my walls.

| Thanks for all of the suggestions, I going to try them and see what works. These ants are so tiny but there are so many. If they were bigger I would not have a problem because my cats will eat every bug including ants, these ones are just too small for them to notice. Thanks again for all your suggestions!!!!
