| I am thinking of starting a new career! Opinions needed please! I had an inspiration the other night, and yesterday I began to pursue it! I am considering starting my own business as a PET SITTER!!! The company Pet Sitters International, a business association for professional pet sitters, was started right here in the town in which I live. I am associated with the husband of the woman that owns the business, and he told me to stop by and speak with her, so I did. I am so intrigued! Yes it looks like a lot of work, but what joyful and rewarding work it would be! You go to the house of the pup/cat/fish/bird and you stay for a half hour minimum (with animals that need attention, I don't think I would stay that long for fish, lol) and you feed, medicate as needed, and exercise them three times a day. AND GET PAID!! It's your own business, and you set your own schedule. You take on as many or as few clients as you wish. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK??? Anyone out there do this now and can offer me some advice? Or just tell me what you think of my idea! I am SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!

| i think its a great idea! Yes im sure it will be hard work at times but so rewarding and think of all the playmates Wosie and Dreama would have I think most people would rather leave there animals in a home environment than in a kennel. i say go for it

| I think it's a great idea. There is a large demand for it. How much do they charge for that service? One lady I talked to says it is cheaper than boarding them when you have 3 dogs. |

| I really think that anything to do with pets right now is the business to be in. There is a lady here that started her own self wash for big dogs. It is called Bubbles and Biscuits (cute)! You can take your dog there and they furnish shampoo/conditioner (different types) towels, blow dryer, of course you use their water and electricity, not to mention not having the mess to clean up at home and they only charge $12 per dog. Glad - I will PM you the link to their website. They also do grooming on site and sell pet food and supplies and treats. I just think it is such a good idea. I use them for our Australian Shepherd/Corgi mix and it is so easy. In addition to everything I mentioned above, you also help your back by not leaning over a bathtub trying to bath the big guys!! I'm sure you can wash the little ones there also, but I was Bonnie in the sink, but I do take her when I wash Patch, she likes to sit on the counter and watch!!

| Glad - this would be right up your alley but I know you would stay more than a 1/2 an hour..hahaha.. I use a company for my gang when I go out of town...it really is cheaper than a kennel, the gang is happier staying at home, safer in my opinion from diseases etc and the gang really likes the woman who comes in. It is so much less stress on them. I pay $60.00 for an over night and $18.00 per 1/2 hour visit - I have them come in 2x's a day. The benefits for you would be: some extra cash coming in (yea) being able to work with animals (yea) set your own work schedule (yea) and maybe meet some more wonderful Yorkies (yea). Maybe even down the road you could have your own little company..just a thought.

| Oh Wow!! Thanks, everyone!! I really do appreciate all your opinions!! And Louise is right, I really did not expect anyone to say NO, lololol... BUT I did expect your wonderful people to have suggestions, talk about your experiences with pet sitters, give me some ideas on how to get started, show me folks you knew in the pet business, talk about pricing, give me moral support, and ALL THE THINGS YOU ALREADY DID DO!!! You people ROCK!!! Thanks so much, EVERYONE, for all of the above!!! And Lynn, you are so sweet to me!! Thanks, honey! Anyone else have any information, ideas, or suggestions about pet sitting? Tell me tell me tell me!! I am doing a lot of research on line too, but if anyone else has personal experience to share, or awesome ideas, or ANYTHING running through their brains about this, spill it please! I already have a name idea: "Glad Pets Sitting Service"! What ya think? lololol I love you guys! Thanks for all your help!!
